5.0 out of 5 stars Just what was needed!
This book was well constructed in 9 powerful and compact chapters. After reading and studying what these authors has to say about the African-American church, pastors and leaders should be pretty much focused and ready to administrate the body in which they have been placed in charge of. Theses authors have left no stones unturned.

3.0 out of 5 stars For clergy only
I am a Pastor Secretary and was looking for something to help me in my position. Although a great book, it is not designed for secretaries. It is a book that is a great tool for Pastors who serve in an andministrative position at their church and trying to build an effective and efficient office.

This book is of tremendous assistance to those of us striving to best organize the church for service while understanding our cultural context and the specific spiritual needs of our people.

This review is from: Church Administration in the Black Perspective (Paperback)
I found the author's insight very helpful but limited in scope. He focuses most of the text on a Baptist perspective. That leaves many other church structures out in the cold. I will tell you that this is one of our texts for our denominational methodist studies. It was probably the most authoritative at the time the studies were complied. There is another text by Floyd Flake that is more appropo.
