5.0 out of 5 stars Great !
My wife and I let the shower go too long without a cleaning. All subsequent cleanings never got the job done. I used a veritable cocktail of chemicals on the tub trying to get it clean. I even got into the heavy industrial chemicals used in fiberglass production. Even THAT didn't help. I am not exagerating when I say I was prepared to replace the tub and shower unit...

My wife and I let the shower go too long without a cleaning. All subsequent cleanings never got the job done. I used a veritable cocktail of chemicals on the tub trying to get it clean. I even got into the heavy industrial chemicals used in fiberglass production. Even THAT didn't help. I am not exagerating when I say I was prepared to replace the tub and shower unit. Er... I should mention that we are not slobs or anything... But there was some sort of film build-up - presumably soap. We are on drilled well. The water doesn't seem to be either too hard or soft. In any event, this product did the job without any elbow grease ! I sprayed it on, let it sit for a minute or two, and wiped it off with a scouring type sponge. I knew there had to be something out there that would react just right with stuff on my tub. This was it. I see some folks are critical of the price. If I knew before hand that this was going to work, I would have paid three times as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best, hands down!, August 4, 2005
This is the ONLY cleaner that gets my shower truly clean. I tried soft scrubs and other spray cleaners, but they just couldn't get the soap scum out of the textured shower floor. This even does a good job of cleaning the residue off the glass shower door. For such a strong cleaner, the smell is surprisingly mild - a rather perfumey scent rather than the awful ammonia or bleach smell of some of the cleaners out there. Even though this is a bit pricier than the competition, it's worth it because it really works!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!, October 4, 2003
By A Customer
I just purchased this product at a local discount store. Wow!

It cleaned the shower and tub in no time flat! No scrubbing! Just spray it on, wait a few minutes, and rinse.

I've tried many products, but this is the best thing I have ever used. I didn't expect it to work, as I have tried many other products that were supposed to remove soap scum. I had not cleaned the shower for at least 2 weeks and after 5 minutes, it looks brand new.

My shower is fiberglass. It may work differently on tile and grout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baking soda, borax, vinegar, etc didn't work.... KABOOM DID!, June 4, 2005
I had a couple year's buildup of hard water deposits on my fiberglass shower walls. When we purchased a water softener, I broke out the arsenal of cleaning products under the kitchen sink.

Nothing worked.

I then searched the 'Net for those effective home-cleaning secrets like borax or baking soda plus vinegar.

Wasn't happening.

I read somewhere a review about Kaboom. Grabbed the keys and told my wife I'm heading up to Wallyworld to get some. She said we had a tub of that Oxi cleaning stuff collecting dust in the laundry room. Found the Kaboom and KABLAM! It's removing the old deposits of whatever was on my shower walls!

Granted I'm gonna have to do 3 coats on these walls with the stuff, but IT WORKS!

What used to feel like fine sandpaper now feels like silk after one cleaning. My shower walls are getting more reflective without the old calcuim water trails clouding them up!

1.0 out of 5 stars Be careful before using this product!, November 19, 2010

I bought Kaboom to try to get rid of the soap scum on the tiles in my shower. I followed the package directions, testing the product on a small patch in an inconspicuous area. It didn't seem to do any harm to the tile I tested, so I continued and treated the entire tub/shower area. When finished, I was slightly disappointed that the product only got rid of about 50% of the soap scum. However, the next morning I noticed all the damages that was done to the tiles. About half of the white tiles had turned gray! We spent over $10,000 renovating our bathroom a couple years ago and now the tiles look awful!! I can't sleep at night knowing that I ruined my beautiful bathroom in an effort to get rid of a little soap scum. BE CAREFUL!

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff works even better than they say...., July 21, 2005

(REAL NAME)
I live on the outskirts of Houston and our water is pretty hard. After watching a continual buildup of scale and soap scum, and trying other things like CLR and Lime-Away, I was about ready to give up on my shower stall with the textured enamel basepan. Then I saw the ad for Kaboom. Goofy name for this stuff, I thought, but went ahead and got a bottle of it.
I sprayed Kaboom on the shower basepan and on the ceramic tiles on the walls. Go drink a Coke....give it 5 minutes or so...then went in there with a 'green scrubbie sponge' ready to give it some elbow grease. Wow! The scale and scum just wiped away with little or no pressure on the sponge! I was astonished! This stuff really works! My shower looks as clean as the day we moved into our new house. Thanks Orange Glo! You have a customer for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars owner of ace hardware, April 18, 2004
By
Sharon Bever (Gentry, AR United States) - See all my reviews
Recently I attended the Ace Hardware convention in Washington, DC where I met Laura Dellutri, The Healthy Housekeeper. She autographed her book "Speed Cleaning 101". After reading her book I have totally changed the way that I clean my 3000 square foot house. She recommends Kaboom in her cleaning caddy. Because we own an Ace Hardware I was able to order 12 bottles of the cleaner. Honestly I had no idea that my tile floor had hairspray build up so badly that my tiles were supposed to be white (not gray). At first I was embarrased to show the difference but decided to show my 12-year-old twins. Even they were excited by the cleaner. I called my husband and told him to come home from the hardware so that he could see the difference. Yes, he was amazed. He admitted he had thought of using acetone to clean the build-up. I had mopped the floor regularly but obviously the cleaner I had used only "cleaned" the intact hairspray build-up.

I am sold on your product and plan to sell it to my Ace Hardware customers as well.

Sincerely,

Sharon Bever

3.0 out of 5 stars My nostrils are on fire, May 17, 2011
This review is from: Church and Dwight Co 35015 Kaboom Porcelain, Tile And Grout Restorer (Kitchen)
So I got Kaboom based off reviews on here, which said it tackles the dirtiest showers. I get a lot of soap scum and mineral build up on my shower, and it's truly a PITA to clean up. Having tried many other products like CLR, Comet, Soft Scrub, none of them really helped. Enter Kaboom.

First off, it did not just spray on and rinse off. Not even close. I still had to use a scrub brush to get more of the scummy stuff off. It did not do a great job of penetrating the thicker parts, these needed tons of elbow grease. Overall it removed a lot of the stuff with some scrubbing, but my nose is on fire. I hope the burning is only temporary. Maybe next time I'll wear a paint respirator to use this stuff.

If you want a cleaner to work without touching it, forget this one. But as said it faired better than CLR, Comet, and Soft Scrub.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard Water build up, soap scum gone!!, May 18, 2010
This review is from: Church and Dwight Co 35015 Kaboom Porcelain, Tile And Grout Restorer (Kitchen)
Previously, I've used 409, ajax, and various other products. Never heard of Kaboom before but I saw it at walmart and decided to try it out. We have hard water here in SATX and I havent cleaned my shower in months (I know eww). Well I sprayed it, let it sit for awhile and lighty scrubbed it with a brush...and WALAH!! My shower stall was squaky clean. Love this stuff...I've tried so many. Don't really understand the other viewers that gave it bad review and said it made it sticky and grimey. Maybe their tub was resurfaced with paint, in which case this would probably melt the stuff right off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Special, October 23, 2009
This review is from: Church and Dwight Co 35015 Kaboom Porcelain, Tile And Grout Restorer (Kitchen)
This doesn't really appear to be any better than 409 or Soft-scrub, both of which I have used regularly in the past. The soap scum may come off a little easier, it could also just be psychological.

It really doesn't work against mineral build up as is claimed.

Be careful of the "Fresh Citrus Scent" that is promoted. Like most cleaners, this is a somewhat noxious chemical. The "Fresh Citrus Scent" is just a cover for the stinging sinuses. If you are particularly sensitive to such things, do not use this. Otherwise make sure you aren't breathing too much while using it.

Use this in a well ventilated area!
