This review is from: The Church Is Not For Perfect People: Who Will Help Them If The Church Will Not? (Paperback)
This is an excellent and well written book by someone that has lived a life of sin and sadness. Bill Murry is the estranged son of the late Madelyn Murry O'Hair. The evil atheist/Marxist/Commie that was against all religion and took prayer out of public schools. Bill suffered from child abuse, no father, and wasn't taught morals. His mother would often tell him "I don't care if you become a bank robber, a drug addict, or end up in jail I just don't want you becoming a Christian".

As a result 33 years of his life were Hell. He was given wine shots as a child, beer, and cigarettes. He became a father by age 18 and had a daughter named Robin.
He ran away from responsiblity and from his home to establish his own life and relationships while being a drug addict and alcoholic.

While his second marriage was crumbling and his second child a daughter named Jade was born he turned to his mothers sworn enemy the church and in 1980 became a Christian.
He was disowned by his family including his mother, half brother Jon, and daughter Robin.

He has become a great evangelist and now is Chairmen of The Religious Freedom Coalition (http://www.wjmurray.com/)
I highly and with all the stars there are reccomend this book to everybody not just a Christian but those that are not or are addicts.

He speaks of helping those with an addiction and 7 years after he converted. Also about writing My Life Without God.
