Church Safety Review,
By Madeline Miller (Lees Summit, MO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Church Safety and Security: A Practical Guide (Paperback)
Churches of any size will benefit from the information in this book. In an age where many have little respect for the sanctity of a church building, synagogue, or cathedral, congregations are forced to balance ministry and safety. This book gives more than theory and advice - it offers real step-by-step solutions to real problems while keeping the spiritual ministry of the church in the picture.

This book isn't terrible, it's just that I was expecting more relevant content, not a lot of generalities. It dodges the issues of violence in church, and since the Colorado shootings in December 07, that is not a good subject to dodge.
Better than nothing, and might be a good starting point. But calling it a "practical guide" is going too far. 2 stars for what appears to be a sincere effort to introduce the subject.

This book did a good job of describing details and scenarios that really impact the importance of having a church security team in place. Mostly, this book is practical and gives great advice on how to impliment and follow through with security for the church.

"Church Safety and Security" by Robert M. Cirtin is an excellent book for the Church in it's early stages of addressing the security problem. He offers a lot of good ideas to bring this issue to the attention of church leaders. This is a growing problem in America and I was fortunate to find the book. The book is written in a plain, easy to understand style that leads one through the process of setting up a security network in the local church.
