4.0 out of 5 stars charming and perfect condition
I was initially hesitant to order after reading reviews of broken pieces and sets being made in Colombia for the 45 and 20 piece sets. I recieved the set in perfect condition and is "Made in England". The color is very nice; not pretty pink or red, but a dull pink with some darker tones mixed along the margins.
The dishes are slightly heavier then regular china,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Broken pieces
When we received this order there were some broken pieces. I emailed customer support, and they sent us a new order that same day. They told us to return the original order, and that we didn't need to return the broken pieces. When the new order arrived, there were some broken pieces in that order. We were able to get a full set from mixing and matching the two sets...

The dishes are slightly heavier then regular china, but much lighter the stoneware or any other dinner set in this category.
There are few things though to make it get 4 star, not 5. When feeling the surface of the dishes, u can sometime get irregularitis - like small bubbles. The dishes are on average smaller in size compared to other dinnerware, especially the Oval platter, tea kettle. This set has bread plates and cereal bowl.
Overall I like it, and it's dishwasher safe!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, April 2, 2007
I am so happy with my purchase. The dishes were packed well for shipping. I bought this item for my sister's bridal shower. Her and everyone else were so impressed with the set. It's exactly what my sister wanted: a set that reminded her of our late, english grandmothers dish set. Some pieces say, Made in England. The dishes that don't, match the ones that do. It's a beautiful blue color. The dishes are strong and well made.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Mom Loves it, January 9, 2009

This review is from: Churchill Brook 47-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8 (Kitchen)
I got this for my mom for Christmas and when she saw it on the table she literally shrieked. She loved it, the patterns are amazing they really pop out and it's very sharp. The seller was very good about packing, everything arrived beautifully, I was very pleased. Our most favorite part of the collection is the teapot, it is stunning and had our Christmas guests talking. Mine were made in Colombia. We also have England Churchill before and truthfully there is no difference in quality, visually at least.

The pieces were probably broken in shipping so I doubt it was Amazon's fault.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible, not great, September 23, 2008
This review is from: Churchill Brook 47-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8 (Kitchen)
I have a made in England set that was incomplete from 15 years ago to compare this Amazon purchase. My Amazon 47 piece set in blue is all made in Columbia. Quality is not nearly as good as made in England. English origin pieces are so much more clear, not blurry like the Columbian ones. Finish on the pieces can be rough or sharp pieces of something stuck in the glazing. I guess for the price I can't complain and they are good enough for everyday, but I wouldn't use them for company.

2.0 out of 5 stars Churchhill China (47 piece Set), September 2, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Not what I though I was ordering. This product was manufactured in Colombia rather than England. Several pieces were broken. Amazon completely and quickly took care of my order and the problems that I was having.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice set!, April 1, 2008
These are really nice...not sure which (from where) my set was made but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the England set. There is some variation between some of the items (plates are not as clearly printed as the others and appear a little fuzzy)...but I just love them - probably wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't mentioned in the other reviews - and would recommend them for purchase.

Large bowl and serving platter arrived broken but Amazon was amazing with the "call you back" feature (my phone rang in less than a minute after I asked them to call me, and I used the service several times for various questions). Each person I spoke with was extremely helpful and friendly and spoke ENGLISH! s:) They simply shipped me a whole new shipment, I removed the dishes that were broken, and then shipped the box back to them. The box was HUGE and HEAVY, but UPS picked it up at my door (they actually came in and got it for me!) When I asked Amazon customer service if they wanted me to return the broken ones, they were concerned about injuries that could result from broken china and told me just to dispose of them. Of course, I kept them, though in case I ever do a mosaic or something!

You rock amazon! I think I even got Prime shipping on this item -- and it seems, if you put it on your Wish List and check your list every now and then, they sometimes put them (and other things on your list) on sale to encourage you to buy them.

What an exquisite, beautiful, old-worldm elegant China set this is! Perfect for every day or formal occasions, holiday special dinners, etc. The English countryside scenes are lovely & reminiscent of my grandmother's china sets. My sons love it! A superb buy!
