Richly detailed but surprisingly durable, the Churchill China Brook Pink dinnerware has an elegant pastoral mood. Executed in a dark pink, each piece features an ornate border of basket weave and grapevine clusters. At the center of the plates and bowls are varying scenes of cottages and manor houses set amidst trees and flowing streams. Equally detailed matching images are repeated on the exteriors of the teacups. Sculptural waves on the rims and bodies of the dinnerware catch the light and add a pleasing texture.

This 20-piece Brook Pink collection includes four complete place settings, each with a 10-inch dinner plate, a 6-3/4-inch bread and butter plate, a 6-1/2-inch cereal bowl, a 5-1/2-inch saucer, and an 8-ounce teacup. The dishes are made from high-fired earthenware and finished with a glossy top-glaze to protect the transfer-printed pattern. Brook Pink dinnerware is produced by utilising the centuries old art of transfer printing from original engravings which bring to life the scenes of an English rural countryside. The Cottages, Churches, Brooks & landscapes are long forgotten in this modern world however they do still exist & we at Churchill try to bring the best out in these scenes by reproducing our ceramics the way our forefathers did in the 18th Century. Each Piece is processed and handled at least 50 times before it is finally made ready for our customers. I ordered 3 sets of these and the matching Oslo pink mugs...they all arrived well-packed with no damage. Mine were 'Made in England' which is what I wanted. I almost ordered the big 45-piece set, but we needed 12 place settings, and luckily I noticed that the 45 pc set and 20 pc sets don't have the same bowls and small plates, so they don't 'intermingle'...This 20 pc set comes with cereal bowls and bread plates, the 45 pc set comes with shallow soup bowls and salad plates. We do love our cereal bowls, easier for the kids to use, and we use them for salads and vegetables. But I would like some salad plates, and plan to purchase those separately. As far as durability, so far, so good...and thank heavens for pretty dishwasher-safe dishes!! I'm getting rid of our wedding china and hope to never handwash dishes again!

This dinnerware set is nice, but nothing more. It is wrongly described by "Made in England" when it is actually "Made in Colombia". Therefore, it is not the highest quality. When I received it I was a little bit disappointed. Unlike the real "Made in England" Churchill china, the color is faded, and the offprint is displaced a little. Altogether, not a bad deal but still looking for the real England made-there is A difference.

Everything arrived well-packed, with no damage.

When I checked this item out I was given the impression that it was made in Britain. Since I had bought it as a gift I did not see it until a few months later when I visited the recipient. I was very shocked and dissapointed to see that it was made in Columbia not Britain!. I wish Amazon would state the origins of its products.
