Second time around - going to quit and get a refund. No more dishes from Amazon. Amazon should consider suspending this vendor as the dishes were improperly packaged and labeled which led to dish breakage. Also no proof or materials enclosed that show if the plates are microwave or dishwasher safe or contain no lead.

Here is my note to Amazon customer service from the first try:

The Amazon box had a slit from top to bottom on one of its corners. It also wasn't properly labeled "i.e. glass, caution, or breakables" to warn the shipper of its contents.

Once I opened the main Amazon box, there were two cardboard boxes that were unlabeled by the manufacturer. On the product description it stated that the china was to come packaged in the manufacturer's original packaging - it wasn't. Both boxes looked like they had been opened previously.

The first box was packaged correctly and had cardboard separators with paper between each item.

The second box was a different story. I knew it was a bad sign when I lifted the box out and I heard a rattle. When I opened it the dishes were laid in there haphazardly with the cardboard separators all jumbled on the bottom so I know someone had already opened it and perhaps it was a return. I was surprised that only three saucers were broken considering the state of the packaging.

Further, I was disconcerted because I ordered the product because it was Churchill and made in England, as stated in the product description. It is misrepresented because the items I received said they were Wessex and made in Malaysia. The outside of the plain cardboard box stated it was made in Columbia! WHAT THE HECK????

I have been a loyal Amazon customer over the years and have been quite happy with my Amazon and Amazon marketplace purchases. This was my first disappointment. I will stick with non-breakables from now on.

I thought maybe I would be lucky and get the ones made in England. It looks like all of them shipped from here on out will be from Malaysia. With that in mind, you are not getting the several hundred dollar set as the list price indicates. Nevermind that though and look at what you do get.

You a get a very nice set for a very reasonable price. They get the job done in my household. They have held up over the several months I have owned them. No problems with scratches or anything like that. The heat nicely in the microwave. They are about 100 times better than the trendy junk I owned prior to this that cost as much. The feel is great and quality is very high. This is a good deal and a good reason to get rid of your old plates.

This dish set has yet to show much wear. I am still very happy with them, although the price has increased about 300% since I bought them.

I got this set of Blue Willow China for Christmas and have been very pleased so far. It is of excellent quality and has done fine in both the dishwasher and microwave. It is true that some of the pieces are a little lighter than others but isn't noticable enough to bother me. I would definitely say this is a set worth owning.

My wife and I are very pleased with the dishes. Although the write up on them said that they are from England, which is false. They must have wrote that because the "Design" is from England, but they were actually made in Malaysia. The packing was very good, but the mail system ended up breaking one of the little saucers. Amazon was prompt and courteous with replacing the whole entire set, even thought they wasted shipping costs when they could have just sent a new saucer. In the end, we are very happy with our purchase and the customer service with Amazon!

Made in England and packed so well it could go through an earthquake. When you open the boxes you will be astonished by the quality at this or triple the price. One of the worlds best dish values. Besides being beautiful, they handle the microwave, oven, and dishwaasher like pro's. No wear and tear, no knife marks in the glaze after years of abuse at our house. Had purchased some more pricey dishes from Phalzgraff that could not stand up to daily use of a spoon or folk without scratching. These are really high quality, remain lusterous after years of daily use, and are an excellent value. Get the tea pot, too. It is so pretty. You will get lots of complements from men and women, young and old.

I received my dishes from Amazon fast! I thought I might have to email Amazon and let them know that a piece was broken or chipped.
To my surprise.........NO broken pieces or chipped dishes. They were packed very well. None of my dishes were discolored. I am well pleased with them. The reason I bought Churchill was because if I dropped a plate or cup..I could easily replace the one piece I broke...There are alot of "Blue Willow" on the market.........I researched and found that I like the Churchill the best.

This set is very nice, but the color on some items is much lighter then on others, that makes it look old.

It isn't that it is ugly. But it is a lie...a huge lie Amazon is telling you, the set is made in MALAYSIA. Yep... by Wessex. It isn't even Churchill. And China? I'd call it stoneware! Buyer BEWARE!

Very good quality china and same for the imprints. Beautiful smooth curves and nice colors. This is so much better than the simple dinnerware I had, I can use this for a special dinner with guests.

The manufacturer's package clearly stated "Churchill China Chelsea Blue Willow". Inside, true enough, was Wessex, made in Malaysia - but this was a mislabeling on the part of Churchill China.

That said, I like my new china. I've yet to catch a guest looking under a plate to see where it came from, and the set is lovely. Beautiful ripples catch the light, and the lines of the drawing are clear and in no way smudged. Consistent dark blue against a creamy ivory background, the illustration tells a bittersweet love story which has endeared the pattern for generations.

On the down side, one saucer was broken - almost to be expected. Unfortunately, they can't replace a single saucer. And the soup bowls and platter are rather small, so the set is not without it's faults. In fact the platter is small enough that my husband quipped "Is that for the Thanksgiving Cornish Hen?" But the complaints end there - and they are the only reason this isn't a five star Blue Willow.

A wonderful addition to our household, even our boys like the exotic look. And finally, we'll have enough china for this family! For us, this will be everyday china, and from the research I've done on Churchill China it should be able to stand up to daily usage. Still, I'm going to be treating this with care - it's quite a treasure!
