Loved the design so I ordered. The first set arrived broken - noticed it wasn't made in England but Colombia. Asked for replacement - also arrived broken. Asked for refund! My main objection is bad packing and they shouldn't say it's made in England when it's not!

I recieved the order of Churchill China Finlandia mugs today and was very displeased to see that they were made in COLUMBIA and not in ENGLAND as stated in the product description. They are not of the same quality as the Churchill China that is made in ENGLAND that I own and appear to be a cheaper knock-off of the better English China. Sending them all back and shopping somewhere else.

I purchased a set of six cups on an on-line auction about two years ago and had no idea of the pattern name or that they were made by Churchill. These mugs are beautifully made and are truly dishwasher safe.. they still look like new. They are sturdy (I still have all six mugs) but they are not your normal "clunky" looking or feeling mug. I found these by looking at teapots... which I am now going to order (to match my mugs!)

I like the dishes I bought a lot. The only problems I have is that:

1) I ordered 2 sets of the dishes. On the first set of 40 pc. they all looked a like. Although the color of blue seemed lighter than I thought. On the second set of 20 Pc. They were a darker blue than the first set, that color was more the color I thought they would be. Also the edges on the first set seemed to be more sculpted than the ones on the second set.

2) they said they were micro wave safe. I have used one of the dishes in the micro wave and it got pretty warm to the touch.

Other than that I am happy with the design and the dishes them selves. I am still waiting for that last of the mugs I ordered.

Yes, the quality of these does not equal those manufactured in England. True they lack something in fineness and are a bit more rough. However, they are also very inexpensive and pretty. They can work alongside your Made in England pieces without anyone noticing. They are worth the money and I would buy again.

The original mugs had less room for your index finger between the handle and the cup. These are easier to hold ergo (or hence) may last longer? Keep your fingers crossed.

I hope I'm wrong - I cannot see a crack in the glaze. Sure don't want a hot cup of coffee barrelling down when the handle breaks off!

Maybe they're not dishwasher safe after all.

Anyone experience this, too?

I love the shape of these mugs and the Finlandia pattern. Great buy at this price.

I love these mugs. The size is just perfect. Dainty and yet durable. Just what I was looking for!
