A pale shadow, January 10, 2009
This review is from: Churchill China Finlandia Milk Jug (Kitchen)
I was given the milk jug and the gravy boat for Christmas 2008. The gravy boat was made in England, the milk jug in Columbia. The milk jug is a pale shadow of the original English pattern. Here's the problem: Churchill moved their operations to Columbia. The quality of the china coming from Columbia is not anything like the quality of the china that used to be manufactured in England. The transfers are sketchy, the colors are off, the glaze cracks with the least provocation. How very sad. I had a conversation with a Churchill representative two years ago, in which he assured me that the quality issues at the Columbian site were being corrected. Apparently not. I first purchased this pattern 25 years ago when it was made by Myott and then replaced it again in the 1990's when Churchill re-released it and was still manufacturing it in England. Pity that it is now made so poorly in Columbia. My advice: only buy this product if it is made in England. Reputable china dealers will list the country of origin so customers can make informed decisions. Amazon should do the same.

Great addition to Finlandia collection, January 6, 2008
This review is from: Churchill China Finlandia Milk Jug (Kitchen)
I bought this milk pitcher for my Mother - it is a great addition to her Finlandia collection. It's not too big or clumsy and has a beautiful shape. In addition to milk, it's also great for serving juice. I especially love seeing it out on the kitchen table for brunch!
