I bought 2 sets of these and am very pleased with them. I am going to order all the pieces to this set. They go great with our French Country decor and I really love the rustic look they have. They are very solid pieces and not something you will have to worry about breaking very easily like a fine china. The kids love the square design and the design is much easier for the little ones to eat off them without their food pushing off the side of the plate.

It is very attractive. Simple but elegant. You can use everyday or on special occasions. I have looked for a year for dinnerware, and do not like what is out on the market. Most are gawdy colors. It is also rare to be able to purchase a set. Almost everything today is sold individually and you can spend a fortune.
This Sandstone dinnerware set is reasonably priced. I took advantage of the free shipping and the $25 promotion currently being offered.

The only hesitation that I had when I ordered was that Sandstone looked almost yellow in most of the pictures. The actual color is like an oatmeal. I was pleased. I would have accepted the yellowish color but the oatmeal is nice and what I wanted. I read the reviews from the others and that helped me make my decision. Buy it! You won't be disappointed.

I just received 4 sets of the Sandstone dinnerware which I just love! I've been looking for dinnerware to replace earthenware which was horrible - every dish chipped & cracked. The color is what I would call cream. The edges are lightly distressed giving it an aged/rustic look. The soft square design actually fits better in my cabinet & dishwasher. The dishes are lightweight but you can feel that they are solidly constructed. I knocked a dinner dish into our granite counter & nothing happened. I've been looking for solidly constructed dinnerware for months. There is lots of it out there but its mostly earthenware (cheap) & patterned which I could not commit to. This pattern complements any French Country kitchen perfectly. One dish came broken & Amazon agreed to replace it!! I'm sure I'll receive lots of complements. Plus, my kids think they are cool. I'm one happy mama!!

What a lovely place setting. I am collecting all of the pieces in the sandstone (oatmeal) and the patina green color. Alternating the colors is beautiful. The pieces are so heavy and durable. Use everyday and enjoy!!!

Although the dishes were beautiful and exactly what I have been looking for in terms of style, the quality of the dishes was very disappointing. I ordered four sets and found something wrong in each of the sets. The defects ranged from small bubbles, black dots, unfinished spots, small chips, wavy/warped edges and very rough bottoms (problem for stacking). If you want to use these for every day, these probably won't be the dishes for you. The other problem is that I discovered Churchill China sold off this division of Jeff Banks Ports of Call recently and so if you needed replacement from the company it would almost be impossible. I tried to contact them to discuss the quality with them and their website in England doesn't allow that type of contact. Amazon was helpful but the contact they had for the warehouse in the US wasn't the correct location either. So, unfortunately, I sent them back to Amazon.

While I still Love the pattern and the color was just what I'd hoped, I received two sets of these dishes and both had air bubbles in the glaze on the plates - showing bare stone in tiny circles all over the eating surface. While Amazon was good to exchange and then return them and provide a refund, I am unfortunately out a large promotional gift certificate and very disappointed with my experience with these plates.

I was so excited to find these dishes and when I read the reviews here I just knew I'd love them. I ordered 4 sets of dinnerware and had intentions of ordering other pieces to match, but when I received my shipment, I had one plate broken (shipping problem) and a few of the pieces were chipped here and there. I knew with my large rough-and-tumble family that these dishes would never hold up at my house so sadly, I sent them all back. Amazon was very gracious and gave me free return shipping and promised to completely refund my money. THANKS AMAZON!

I thought that Churchill China was made in England, but my dishes said "Churchill China Made in China". Perhaps that is why the quality was not up to snuff.

I love the plates, however, they are not the sage green color as they appear in the picture. The color is more blue than green.

I really love these dishes! I have been looking a long time for square dishes that had some personality and didn't cost an arm and leg - these are what I have been looking for. They are rustic and imperfect which makes them charming. Other reviewers were disappointed with the color and the small imperfections in the glaze - the color is more mint-y but it is a great color; the glaze imperfections make them rustic, but I did look at them closely to make sure they would not deteriorate later. I did have a couple broken ones in the 2 packs that I ordered and a couple where the glaze imperfections were a little too much. I contacted Amazon through their online service and the exchange was fast, simple and at no cost to me. I also like the size of the mugs - not too small and not too big for coffee to become cold too soon. They stack well even with the difference is edges and we have not experienced any scratches from using knives on the plates. The salad plate is a generous size - perfect for salad or snacks. I am very pleased!

I searched for a long time for plates to replace our every day china (after 12 years we were down a bunch of pieces, and I didn't want to pay for the replacements). I ordered 4 sets, loving the shape and antiquing in the photos. They got here in 3 days, not a single chip or break, the color is better (more creamy) than it looks in the picture, and I love the weight and feel of it. There are a few minor imperfections (a very small bubble here or there), but nothing that will harm the plate or user, and I love that they are all slightly different. I ordered one set to keep aside to replace breakage (3 kids)... but I love them so much I may order another so I get a good decade out of them!
