The movie was great so's the book,

Largely inspired by the Amul co-operation movt in Anand, the book tells a tale about the rise of a milk co-operative system in an obscure place in Gujarat. Very engrossing, it narrates the difficulties faced by the man who sets it in motion and the villagers who back it.
