5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Is On Fire!!!!!!
Ms. Keisha Ervin, just do your thing girl! I think that Chyna Black was a very good read. Even though I liked Ms. Ervin's debut novel, you can tell that she has improved with this book. We may as well give her the crown on these urban relationship stories.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lessons in Life
It was a good book based on an autobiography. There are messeges of hope and encouragement for those who are drawn into the game - there is a way out. Chyna was special and blessed with determination, despite the mine fields that were in her path. She matured through and by her circumstances; and was able to keep her head above water as she waded through waters in her...

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Is On Fire!!!!!!, May 12, 2005

Ms. Keisha Ervin, just do your thing girl! I think that Chyna Black was a very good read. Even though I liked Ms. Ervin's debut novel, you can tell that she has improved with this book. We may as well give her the crown on these urban relationship stories.

Chyna Black's characters are well developed with dialogue and action that is entertaining to read. I like the fact that Ms. Ervin's books point out that in many cases the reason a lot of women end up in drama filled relationships is because of absentee fathers. Many young women don't have the example of how a relationship is supposed to work. The main character Chyna was on the right track at one point. She got into some things but nothing too bad. She went to school and kept her grades up. But Chyna's father was not in the picture and when she starts to have major problems with her mother she feels she has no choice but to move in with her boyfriend Tyreik. Tyreik draws her in with money, a false sense of independence, and so called love. Chyna loses her sense of self, drops out of school, and thinks that shopping is what life is about. Little does she know that because something looks good to you it may not be good for you. The drama begins and you will not want to put this book down.

I could have done without the last few chapters. I liked how Chyna's situation turned out for the best after all that happens to her, I just could have done without Ms. Ervin's semi-autobiographical references and shout outs of books by other TCP authors. Just a bit much. Despite that this book is a hit. I recommend you read it and have your friends read it too. I'm ready for the next one!!

Chyna was special and blessed with determination, despite the mine fields that were in her path. She matured through and by her circumstances; and was able to keep her head above water as she waded through waters in her latter teen years. I enjoyed the book and think other readers will also.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, July 14, 2005
This review is from: Chyna Black (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I could not put this book down.... I can't believe how many times this girl let herself be dogged and disrespected and still took that boy back. I was so into this book, I found myself yelling at this girl on numerous occasions through out the book. I guess there are really females out there like that, who live die and breath for their men no matter how many times they been kicked down. UNBELIEVABLE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Off The Hook, May 17, 2007
This review is from: Chyna Black (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I loved this book, I was glued to the page from begining til the end. Chyna was a trip, I felt like I was on the emotional rollercoaster with her. The one thing I liked about her was that she made alot of mastikes, but she learned from them and got her Sh** togeather. She wasn't running around doing the some old stuff she matured and learned her lesson. Awesome read I would reccomend this book to all young women. You go Keisha Ervin do your thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ, August 15, 2006
This review is from: Chyna Black (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I LOVED THIS BOOK I READ IT IN ABOUT 8 HOURS. I THINK ALL YOUNG WOMEN GROWING UP IN THE STRUGGLE SHOULD READ IT. CHYNA WAS VERY SPECIAL ALTHOUGH SHE DID NOT MAKE ALL THE BEST DECISIONS WITH HER LIFE SHE CAME OUT ON TOP. JUST BECAUSE ONE TAKES A FEW WRONG TURNS DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL NOT FIND THEIR WAY. I FOUND MYSELF BELIVING CHYNA WAS REAL AND ONE OF MY FRIENDS. AT TIMES I WAS SHOUTING NO DON'T DO THAT AND OTHER TIMES I JUST WANTED TO GIVE HER A PAT ON THE BACK AND TELL HER TO KEEP HER HEAD UP. THE STORY WAS SO REAL I THOUGHT I WAS THERE. THIS IS NOT ONLY A MUST READ BUT A MUST BUY I AM ABOUT TO READ IT FOR THE SECOND TIME. YES IT WAS THAT GOOD

5.0 out of 5 stars WE ALL HAVE TO LEARN THE HARD WAY, December 27, 2005
This review is from: Chyna Black (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
KEISHA ONCE AGAIN DID HER THING. THIS GIRL NEEDS TO BE CROWN PRINCESS OF URBAN HIP HOP ALSO. THIS BOOKS SHOWS YOU HOW YOUNG GIRLS ARE VERY NAIVE TO THINK THAT A MAN WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK FOR YOUNG GIRLS TO LEARN THAT EVERYTHING A MAN TELLS YOU IT JUST NOT TRUE. BUT I CANT WAIT FOR KEISHA NEXT NOVEL. I KNOW SHE WILL COME CORRECT.
