Starbucks provides a different kind of lounge record for sure! Most will be introduced to the sultry voice of Lhasa and the raspy Paolo Conte for the first time. Both evoke smoke filled cabaret images, and despite the non-English lyrics you will become mesmerized by the uniqueness of voice manipulation. These 4 tracks are worth the price alone! Nice Italian nostalgia from Dean Martin and Domenico Modugno(remember him)round out the set. Cherish the great Lou Monte's rock&roll version of "Thats Amore". Rosemary Clooney bubbles like Sunday's tomato gravy in her incomparable version of "Mambo Italiano". The swing as promised on this disc's title is really only whipped up by the Louis Prima track and the seemingly out of place "Beyond the Sea" definatively done by Bobby Darin. You will become familar perhaps for the first time with the lounge talented group Pink Martini and be encouraged to pick up an album. The "Fistful of Dollars" track conjures up images of early Clint Eastward spaghetti westerns. Concluding the set is very serialistic short "la Dolce Vita" suite that will leave you in a kind of dreamy daze. A very interesting compilation, not just nostalgic but with something new to offer.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE this CD. A perfect mix of beautiful music. Perfect for a romantic evening or dinner with friends.

Love to listen to this on a rainy day with its' opening by Lhasa. The tracks lift your spirits--not to exhilaration, only to ease you into trance-like sounds. Ends finally, in good spirits.
