3.0 out of 5 stars Fellini in the 60s, September 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Ciao Federico: Filming Satryicon [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is an interesting behind-the-scenes depiction of Fellini's film-making process during the juggernaut that was the Italian film industry during the '60s. Gideon Bachman is a gifted journalist who has been published in Playboy, among others. He lived in Italy and knows Fellini personally. Ciao Federico is an insider's look at the genius of Fellini. How can that be bad?

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE VIDEO FOR ALL FELLINI FANS!!!!, August 22, 2004
This review is from: Ciao Federico: Filming Satryicon [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Listen, Gideon Bachman was not only a very close friend of Fellini, but he has made the finest, most intimate film about Fellini at work. It shows the warmth, humor and insight of Fellini's working persona. There's also a funny bit where Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate visit and talk about getting "high" while Fellini shushes him up--reminding him that they are on film. I've seen this film dozens of times, a favorite scene of mine is when Fellini introduces Gideon Bachman as a member of "The Ball Breaking Corporation", an Italian gesture, revealing their close friendship. My only complaint is that this great film is not on DVD yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad!!!!!!!, January 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ciao Federico: Filming Satryicon [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is one of the most boring videos I've ever seen. Don't waste your money or time to view it. Instead, see a Fellini-directed movie rather than one ABOUT Fellini!!
