Cicatrix is a great cd, it incorporates a myriad of sounds. It just puts you in a good mood, it's full of soul. Favorite tracks are Lejos, Arde el Corazon, and Me Duele No Estar Junto a Ti.

They rock, what I can I say. They brought me into the world of not only rock/new wave, but also Spanish rock. They were thee band to get me into my Spanish rock, and fully convinced me that Spanish and English can really blend well together into not a great song, but great album as Monte Negro did here! I found them y pure change when I was tried of listening to mainstream, its okay Pop but it greats repetitive after awhile and boring. Rock is different! So many style and so many different types of singing artists do! Monte Negro has not failed me with this album that has such meaningful songs! Jason is just strangely amazing! How he plays changes the whole song as does every band member does, but Jason sticks out for me. Kinsk! Oh he just has a way with words! And knowing they LA base/their hometown makes me love them to the max! not yet extreme but they are getting there. Back to the music.
The songs are easy to get into, and there is a whole theme to the whole album, Cicatrix, which means scars in Spanish. Every song, whether you translate and understand its meaning has to do with hurt, and how it not only scars us but makes us into who we are. I purchased their new album last year or early this year (2011) and at first I didn't love/like it, it felt foreign to me. It had way more English than Cicatrix. But as I listened to it and slowly got into the songs, I saw how great their new album was!! It was to par with Cicatrix! Both album are amazing get them now!!! Their LPs and EPs are great too, try to listen to their earlier stuff and their newest stuff! You see their change and so far its great!
*Note, I might not make sense at times, currently without sleep and studying nonstop for days now, I need to write this review to save my brain! ~Ahh~

This band is pure talent. I love this CD.

When I want to rock out, I go to Don't Let Me Down. When I want to groove, a little Gimme Love. Sexy? Lejos. And one of the most beautiful songs ever, Pena Collectiva.

All the songs speak to me in different ways. It's so rare to get an album that can satisfy so many different moods. And to just listen to the songs all together feels incredibly complete.

I love Monte Negro!!!! Would be cool if they came out with a live album, too, because they are ridiculous in concert!!
