From School Library Journal
Gr 6-9--A good translation of a gripping English novel. Tom witnesses and retells the story of his younger brother's extraordinary power. Andy, 12, has the ability to feel people's tragedies so deeply that he lives them personally. When Saddam Hussein invades Kuwait, he takes on the identity of 13-year-old Latif, an Iraqi soldier. This short and suspenseful book is sure to hold readers' attention. The language is simple and straightforward, but the plot is original and unpredictable. Westall describes both sides of the conflict in human terms. An excellent selection for discussion and booktalking.
