5.0 out of 5 stars Whewwwwww!!!
I simply don't trust people who don't like this cd. Also, get a copy of their live cd "Guest List." I had to get it from their website cigarstoreindians.com.

Last time we went to see them we had so much fun I forgot that I don't really drink that often anymore. The 16oz. PBR in the can was the "best deal," but the $20 cab ride, lost cell phone,...

1.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing
I just couldn't get into this music. I love rockabilly style music, but it just didn't do it for me. I wanted to like the band, I tried to like the band, but I just don't like the band. Every song sounds the same to me.

Last time we went to see them we had so much fun I forgot that I don't really drink that often anymore. The 16oz. PBR in the can was the "best deal," but the $20 cab ride, lost cell phone, mysterious scrape on my leg, my new Nikes covered in mud and me sleeping on a sofa when I have a new Sealy Posturpedic matress
led me to believe that they must have put on a hellava show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' Band and GREAT guys to boot!, August 25, 2000

So you know from whence this review comes, I have followed these guys since before 1995. I attended their first CD release party, where I met the woman who would later become my wife. I credit these guys, especially Ben (the lead singer) for being a major part of our romance! We even (somehow) convinced them to play our wedding! They played all of their songs (from both of their albums that were released at the time), but this one is by far my favorite. It is no exaggeration to say that everyone that attended our wedding is not only still talking about it, but are also telling us that it was the most fun they'd ever had [as they say this, they are referring to the reception where the Cigar Store Indians got EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE, on the dance floor! Even the "stuffy uncles" who NEVER dance!]

We even own 3 copies of this CD! That's one for work, for the car, and home! Do yourself a favor, and listen to some of their rockin' tunes here, then the decision to buy will be automatic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockabilly Extraordinaire!, July 1, 2004

When I lived in Atlanta, I went to see these guys once a month or so. Now I see them whenever they come to my town, so about every six months. I absolutely crave this high energy, highly engaging band! This CD is never far from my stereo.

CSI's self-titled debut is a totally sweet blend of high energy rockabilly, bouncing honky tonk and sultry crooning. The songs are very engaging and often very funny too. After about six months of totally rocking to this disk you start to pick up on the subtle satire found in songs like "Barfly" and "Mother Of The Bride."

But CSI is not just another self-aware proud-to-live-in-a-trailer-park alt-country band. They ham it up plenty but really deliver with songwriting and musical chops that often astound me. I've had this CD for years now, and let me tell you it stands up to repeated listening. Buy it, and enjoy it for years to come!

like the first review, we got these guys to play our wedding - it was a 50's themed wedding - all the guys in shark skin jackets - the girls in 50s prom dresses - and the band MADE the wedding - their music is great, and they got everyone dancing. Sacred Was the Night was our wedding song. Get this CD!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Screamin' Stompin' and Rockin'!, May 29, 2000

This CD is a drug. A drug to keep you from withdrawl between live shows. These guys rock with a level of energy that is remarkable. Tight bass lines, steady and authoritative drum beats. Guitar riffs that flow like water and sound like heaven. Vocals are edgy yet refined at the same time. Lyrics are humorous and heartfelt. These guys roll it all up into a super tight rock package and deliver it loud. Buy it-love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY ROCKIN'!, September 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cigar Store Indian (Audio CD)
I got turned on to this band when my husband came back from crab fising in the Bering Sea in April of 1999. A guy on his boat had this CD that he bought at one of their shows. They put this in constant CD rotation when they were working on deck (so basically 24/7). This was the first thing he bought when he got home, we haven't gotten tired of it yet. I hope they come to Seattle soon so we can see them live!

4.0 out of 5 stars Live show review, October 16, 1998

I saw this band in Seattle last year, and bought the CD then. High energy, strong musicianship, tight set. I hope they come back to Seattle soon. With the recent country/rockabilly craze going on, kids would jump all over for this band. Thoroughly enjoyable musical experience.

These guys rule, plain and simple. I saw them play locally and went out and immediately bought this album. The second one is just as good or maybe better, also well worth picking up. Can't wait for the new one coming out the first part of 2000. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Who woulda known?, August 31, 1998
This review is from: Cigar Store Indian (Audio CD)
I was first introduced to these guys back in 1995 while I was a student at the University of Georgia. I was immidiately impressed. So as I was browsing through the section here at amazon.com, boy, was I pleasantly suprised to see their discs on sale. If you like rockabilly or alternative country, this is a must from a great Georgia band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but fun, December 8, 2004
This review is from: Cigar Store Indian (Audio CD)
This is driving music. No, this is dancing music. No, this is house cleaning music. No, this is sing-along music. No, this is party music. Heck, this fits the bill no matter the mood or situation. Catch these guys live if you can.
