Superlative recording of a charming score.,

The sound of Columbia's cast recordings was always far superior to any other record company's and this is no exception. Julie Andrews fresh from MY FAIR LADY leads a superb cast in a marvelous score - the singing is wonderful, the orchestrations are superb and the sound is exceptional. A sure winner!

I am a big fan of Julie Andrews and Cinderella. I really enjoy this soundtrack. Listening to it in my car brings me right back to the 1957 TV production. Interesting, I've learned that this soundtrack follows the order the songs were originally planned to appeared in the TV production. However, after doing a full dress-rehearsal about one week before the live performance (since all TV was done live back then), they decided to switch the order of some of the scenes. Thus, the first song on this soundtrack is not actually the first song in the movie.
