Originally performed by Julie Andrews in the record-setting 1957 television broadcast. For this new incarnation produced by Broadway Asia Entertainment, the piece has been further adapted by Mark Waldrop (Bette Midler's Divine Miss Millennium tour), who secured permission from the Rodgers and Hammerstein library to introduce additional famous songs from their catalogue to "capture the romance and enchantment that will be the cornerstones of this production." 16 tracks. Cinderella International Tour Cast Album
This is a very well-done recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and the first Cast Recording of a Cinderella stage production. Other recordings of Cinderella are taken from TV or cinema productions. Lea Salonga has a clear and delightful voice, and the other cast members offer great support. The album captures the humor of the evil stepmother, the stepsisters and the king in a fun fashion. Marshmallow roasts at a wedding indeed! I recommend everyone add this delightful recording to their personal collections of Broadway Show performances!

I was looking for an album that had the Rodger's and Hammerstein style, but it seemed to be a bit too pop for my taste. I imagine it was fantastic live, but the recording, for me, fell flat. It's definitely not something I want to listen to over and over again.

I must confess that I expected more of this new version of "Cinderella". I love Lea Salonga, but...unfortunaly, she is not Julie Andrews. The arrangements sounds very extrange and the final result seems to me very poor. Sorry !
