Steven Curtis Chapman's "Cinderella" is breathtakingly touching. This soft, piano-driven ballad gently tells the story of a father agreeing to dance with his daughter as she grows up -- from her childish years to the high school prom to the wedding dance. Chapman -- who has won five Grammys as well as the most Christian music awards (51 "Dove Awards") in the history of the industry -- has developed a reputation as genuine songwriter with incomparable genre versatility. "Cinderella," much like Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses" in the 1990s, is the kind of touching song that ends up on Oprah and cements its reputation as a permanent fixture in the hearts of young women and fathers alike.

I heard of SCC's loss this morning on the radio. Later, I read an article that linked to a radio interview of him talking about how he wrote this song. I spent the $0.89 to download it. I listened to the song. I'm afraid I won't be able to stop crying if I allow my self to really start.

Steven, there is nothing anyone on Earth can say to you to make your pain go away, but you know as well as any of us, there is a King Lord God of all Creation that will wipe away all your tears when we go home to be with Him. I prayed for your family as soon as I heard the news this morning. Now, I can only pray that like you, I love my little princess while I can; that she learn to love God as He loves her; that I honor Him while He allows me to briefly share in her raising. Without my God, I could never bear the weight of this great responsibility, but with Him, I might have a chance being the father she needs me to be.

I downloaded this song because I have 2 daughters who love to dance with me. It is a favorite song for dancing to.

I played this song for the first dance with my little girl at her wedding. It was perfect! Still brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it!

I love this CD, it is so touching and moving. My husband- a big strong military man, even cries when he hears cinderella. He said because it makes him realize just how quickly our little girl is growing and it makes him sad. It's a lovely song about a daddy and daughter. I would definately recommend it to ANYONE!]
