5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Elmo video
My son has six Elmo videos, and this one is the best. The songs are witty, and delightful for both kids and adults- you'll be watching it too. The fairy godfather inspires Elmo to fulfill his dream, instead of poofing it into existence. There is absolutely nothing annoying about this video; no whiney, cranky,or phony characters. The message is to make your own dreams...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for my 1 year old....YET!
My daughter, who just turned 1, has been an Elmo fan for a little while now. This is the only thing with Elmo that she doesn't like. She wouldn't watch more than 5 minutes of it. It's much different from other of his videos. It's more scripted and less animated than his normal segments. I think it would be more popular with 2 or 3 year olds, especially if they're familiar...

The fairy godfather inspires Elmo to fulfill his dream, instead of poofing it into existence. There is absolutely nothing annoying about this video; no whiney, cranky,or phony characters. The message is to make your own dreams come true. The acting is fabulous and all the Sesame street favorites; Cookie monster, Telly monster, Bert and Ernie, Zoe, Baby Bear are there. Overall, it has a very good feeling-- not stressed out like Elmopalooza or nagging like Elmocize.

5.0 out of 5 stars Henson Productions do it again, February 17, 2000

A postively delightful treat for the youngsters, with plenty of jibes thrown in that only the adults will get. Keri Russel is friendly on the eyes and Oliver Platt has a blast. No one is too mean, but nothing is too sappy. The humor is reverant, but kid-friendly. How do the Henson folks do it so consistently? Buy this; your toddler will love it, and it won't drive you insane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sweet take on a classic fairy tale, October 11, 2004

Elmo does it again -- steals the show as a dusty but lovable little monster "Cinderelmo" who toils with housework while his evil step mom and step brothers get ready for the Princess Birthday Ball. The music is infectious, the characters all play memorable parts, the guest actors are WONDERFUL in their roles as Fairy Godfather (Oliver Platt), The Evil StepMom (Kathy Najimy) and Princess (Keri Russell). I play this movie several times per week for our two year old because she just adores watching the scenery and singing along with all the catchy and original songs. This is a must have for any Elmo Fan!

4.0 out of 5 stars delightful!, February 28, 2000

in december i turned on the t.v. expecting to catch my favorite show, and horrors! it had been pre-empted by Cinderelmo! Feeling like a couch potato, i chose not to turn the channel....and boy did i have fun! this 45 yr old got to be a kid again, but still enjoyed the clever play on words that the muppets are so good at. i found myself thoroughly enjoying even the silly songs. your kids will love it, and you will too. it could easily become a classic like "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

5.0 out of 5 stars Seseme Street doesn't let us down, as ususal, June 27, 2003

Fantastic movie for toddlers...my 3 year old loves this movie. It was the perfect introduction to a longer film with a plot for her to follow. The cast was wonderful, LOVED Oliver Platt. Great songs for the kids, and tolerable for the parents. Not one word in this video is offensive. Also throws in good values, looks aren't everything, it's what's inside...and don't just dream and wish, you have to actually do something to make your dreams come true...some adults should watch this!
Perfect for boys and girls.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY CUTE, October 25, 2001

My 2 year old daughter loves Elmo, and he has enough appearances in this movie to keep her entertained.. But even when he isn't on screen, the other characters are great at keeping her interested still... its actually a really cute twist on Cinderella.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elmo Goes to the Ball, and your kids will have one!, July 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cinderelmo [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Of all the Elmo viewing out there, I highly recommend Cinder Elmo. My 18 month-old twins talk about it all the time, and try to sing the easy lyrics. We even listen to the cassette tape in the car.

It's no Rodgers & Hammerstein production, but Henson's work never fails to give us parents something to smirk about. It's a blast that grows on you. I find myself sitting through it often, and enjoying dancing and singing along with the kids. Oliver Platt as the Fairy Godperson is endearing, Kathy Najimy is the nicest Evil StepMother you will ever meet.

Our 21st Century empowering moral is, "If you've got a dream, do something!" I will have tough time explaining who Cinderella after this video! All's well that ends well. Henson's company does it again, and better than ever. END

3.0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves it but Najimy really annoying, August 27, 2000
This review is from: Cinderelmo [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video certainly accomplishes its purpose of entertaining young children. However, its cheesiness will occasionally send the adults in the house screaming from the room. Kathy Najimi's mugging stepmother is especially cloying. Oliver Platt does a nice job as the Fairy Godperson and Kerri Russell is merely adequate as the princess. Of course the Muppets are the real stars and don't disappoint.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but a bit thin, May 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cinderelmo [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My two year old loves Elmo in Grouchland, so I was on the lookout for a new Elmo video for him. I read some other reviews at Amazon.com and ordered CinderElmo. I watched it with my son when it arrived, and we both liked it; but not as much as we both enjoy Elmo in Grouchland. The songs in CinderElmo aren't as catchy as they are in Elmo in Grouchland -- I don't catch myself humming them as I do Together Forever or One Foot in Front of the Other. It wasn't a bad video; just not as good as Elmo in Grouchland. It's a good back-up video if your toddler just can't get enough Elmo-action from Grouchland.
