Book Description

May 15, 2012 4 - 8 years

One night on the farm, the cows overhear a fantastic tale.

“Hey Diddle Diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon!”

Inspired by this classic rhyme, a plucky cow named Cindy Moo sets out to prove that cows really can leap over the moon.

The other cows laugh at her, but that doesn’t stop Cindy from trying—and failing—night after night . . . until a trick of nature shows Cindy a way to triumph.

As delightfully silly as the original nursery rhyme, this hilarious picture book will have readers of all stripes (and spots) cheering for its determined heroine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Story time Gold. May 19, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Books that utilize classic rhymes are most always a big hit with me, and Cindy Moo is no exception. With what is perhaps the cutest cow in the picture book kingdom, and a rhyming flow that is just outstanding, Cindy Moo is a perfect choice for any preschool teacher or story time leader looking for a group read aloud. Parents looking to add to their personal collection will also want to snatch this one up as it is sure to become a bedtime favorite.

The illustrations are done in muted night-time tones, as befits a story featuring the moon, but that in no way takes away from their charm. Cindy Moo, along with all the other Diddle cows, are very expressive, from wide eyed excitement at the prospect of jumping over the moon, to frustration and sadness after a couple of failed attempts. Kids will enjoy their big toothy grins at the end as all the Diddle herd joins Cindy in jumping over the moon, and will admire their ingenuity. If you want to know how they manage it, you'll just have to wait and see!

Very solid writing and charming characters make this one story time gold.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it May 20, 2012
Format:Hardcover
I loved this book, we read it then read it again. I happen to be a BIG fan of animals so I love Cindy Moo the only thing this book was missing was the Cindy Moo dolly I want. My entire family enjoyed this book it was so beautifully drawn, I'm an artist so I know art work and I liked it. I also liked that this book was hardcover because my baby sister Princess Frostine carried it around for the rest of the day. Read Cindy Moo too, all kids will love it, but don't worry about Cindy she finds a way to make her dream come true.

"*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own."
