Good collection of tracks, nicely performed, but not as good as Cinema Choral Classics I, which is 5-star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silva brings together Choral & Orchestra...Best of the Best, January 17, 2002
This review is from: Cinema Choral Classics 2 (Audio CD)
Stand back "Choral Classic" friends...this second volume from the CROUCH END FESTIVAL CHORUS(David Temple-Choir Master) shares the stage with THE CITY OF PRAGUE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA...and the performances are beyond description, which means BRILLIANT, OUTSTANDING and what the young people today call AWESOME!

Now for this review, we notice a more "classical flavor"...also more selections from one or two composers...for instance, Patrick Doyle has "MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING"(1993)..."SENSE AND SENSIBILITY"(1996)..."HAMLET"(1996), Doyle's romantic passages are so enthralling, not to mention the sorrow expressed through counterpoints and marriage of choir and orchestra---next is Danny Elfman with "EDWARD SCISSORHANDS"(1990)..."MARS ATTACKS"(1996), our composer works so well with director Tim Burton...choir hits a high note and wonderful orchestration takes you on a picnic of glee...gotta love it.

Being an enormous Basil Poledouris Fan, one cannot overlook "THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER"(1990), before I saw the film...fell in love with this selection "Hymn To Red October"...more than five minutes in length, is a complete joy and a memorable listen for anyone who can't read a note of music...just sitting there absorbing each measure, counter melodies and movements that leave you breathless.

Great job from the batons of Paul Bateman, Kenneth Alwyn and Nic Raine...with the guiding hand of producer James Fitzpatrick...executive producer Reynold da Silva and Silva Screen Records...presentation is flawless, with blends of immortal performances...doesn't hurt this release is a "HDCD" and "DOLBY SURROUND" sound extravaganza...looking forward to the next outing from our favorite CHORAL and ORCHESTRA in the genre of film scores and soundtracks...can't help it...I'm a "film-score-buff" nut!

Total Time: 73:25 on 18 Tracks ~ Silva Screen Records SILKD-6017 ~ (1998)

This recording is so beautiful. The blend of voices is perfect. I highly recommend it. Get also the other two. They are magnificent. I love "In pace" from this album.
