Drew Tretick and the London Symphony Orchestra perform with such beauty and sensitivity. --Andrea Morricone, renown film composer

One of the key elements of any musician is to develop your own sound. Violinist Drew Tretick has a tone that harkens back to the day when milking a note for all it's worth was what brought the crowds in, and I am a sucker for it. Usually performing with a self-created electric violin, Tretick shifts gears and plays the more traditional type with the London Symphony Orchestra for an album's worth of warm soundtrack pieces. Most jazz oriented are the standards For All We Know and What a Wonderful World which feature a Bechet-like vibrato that is quite bel canto. All modern jazzers should take time to appreciate the time honored lesson displayed here that it s not what you say, but the way that you say it. --Jazz Weekly review by George Harris

Drew Tretick's Cinema Classics is a great favorite on the WQED Morning Show. Wonderful arrangements, terrific choice of material, beautifully recorded with the LSO at Abbey Road and top notch playing from Drew Tretick. --Jim Cunningham, Senior Executive Producer at Classical WQED 89.3 Pittsburgh, PA

5.0 out of 5 stars Drew's music will enchant you May 26, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Drew Tretick is the first violinist that I ever listened to over and over. I heard him at downtown Disneyland in Anaheim and his music just penetrated my whole body with joy and happiness. His violin has a voice like it's talking back to the London Symphony Orchestra. I highly recommend buying his CD. I think it's his best one. My roommate and I are always taking it away from each other to listen to. The Cinema Classics are great since they also bring back all the movies of my younger years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cinema Classics April 24, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Drew is an amazing talent. .. yes, the top of the class in his skill, technique, intonation and the emotion put into these great cinema songs. Also, the amazing creative talent of Bob Krogstad and his arrangements for Drew and the London Symphony Orchestra provides a wonderful wedding of talent for this collection. If you enjoy the arranging skill of Robert Farnon and Angela Morley, you will LOVE what Bob Krogstad has done with Drew and the London Symphony Orchestra. If you enjoyed the Cinema Serenade projects with Pearlman and John Williams, you MUST purchase this CD. I have it and it gets a regular listen on my I Pod. Stephen Boalt - Ventura Steve

5.0 out of 5 stars A must own CD August 23, 2009
Format:Audio CD
I usually do not like music without lyrics but this is one outstanding compilation of Cinema Classics. The emotion of Mr. Tretick's play touches the heart. As I have listened to it over and over again I feel it is the sound track of my life. Be sure and take a listen to this CD. I know you will want to add to your collection.
