5.0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS SOULFUL MUSIC - FOOD FOR THE EARS, September 24, 2002

This review is from: Cinema Italiano (Audio CD)
This CD has got to be one of the best I've bought this year. It's sensational!! A real gem for anybody's music collection. Despite the fact that big-names Deborah Harry and Sting appear on the album, it is the Italian singers - Pavarotti, Fillipa Giordano and Lucio Dallo that steal the show with some amazing renditions of cinematic movie tunes. Pavarotti's performance of the Romeo & Juliet theme is heart-breaking, heart-wrenching, gut-twisting stuff. Simply amazing listening! And Andrea Griminelli's flute-playing is undoubtedly masterful, his passion for the material really shows in such brilliant pieces as the themes from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and The Mission. I can't believe I am the first person to review this amazing CD!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly, it works, January 27, 2009

I wouldn't thing the stable of recording artists who participated could make this work, but it does. Believe it or not, my favorites are those by Blondie, Sting and someone we don't hear enough of, Filippa Giordano (listen to her sing the theme from Lost Boys 2)
