I should disclose first that I am completely biased, having been involved in the creation of this album, but I strongly recommend it nevertheless. Laurent is one of the world's most distinctive violinists, with an eclectic taste ranging from Bartok and Ysaye to movie themes and jazzy influenced swing. This album is a prime example. Where does one find Chaplin, Morricone, Gershwin & Carlos Gardel and movies ranging from Snow White to the Godfather, all on one CD and it makes sense? The album also contains Laurent's own compositions/scores 'Fuzjko's Waltz' and 'Tribulations', which you can see on the video on this page. There are tracks with orchestra, with just violin/piano and in a unique trio combination of violin, accordion & double bass - all highly original, listen to 'Mission Impossible' to get an idea. 'In The Mood for Love' (officially 'Yumeji's Theme') was played with the bow upside down ('because I wanted to get a slightly 'dirty' sound', Laurent said) and is one of the most beautiful, romantic pieces of music on record. Highly, highly recommended.

Mr. Korcia's style is whimsical, lyrical, slightly swinging, and--well--perfect. All that and he's a joy to listen to at the same time. What a talent. What a musician and artist.

Almost Perfect,

This would be perfect with the omission of "Mission Impossible". Each song flows into the next until you get to that track. It flaws an otherwise perfect album.

Classical Music convert,

I have never been a big fan of classical music and it is almost 'silly' to say that I am now... however, Laurent Korcia's Cinema CD, has opened my mind to embracing the unknown. First, I am familiar with most of the movie themes on the CD, which made it recognizable but I did not expect to feel the raw emotions flowing through each piece Mr. Korcia infused with such passionate violin playing... I love, love, love this CD and can't wait for what he does next.

Once in a while, an artist comes along that blows you away- Laurent Korcia's CD "Cinema" is an incredible mix of film music, with Korcia's beautiful violin playing on themes that range from Ennio Morricone's "Cinema Paradiso," and George Gershwin's "Summertime, to John William's "Shindler's List," and Lalo Schifrin's "Mission Impossible," the latter, unlike anything you've ever heard before. The CD is both soothing and intriguing- Laurent Korcia is a star in the making. I couldn't recommend this CD more.
