Ideal for the desert cinephile, August 16, 2011
This review is from: Cinema Southwest: An illustrated Guide to the Movies and their Locations (Paperback)
This book resides in many of Utah's National Park visitor's centers for good reason, and it deserves a 5 star review to represent it. What you can find in this book: the history of filmmaking within locations, studios and their respective addresses, driving directions, information on viewing cinematically historic buildings, beautiful full page stills from movies & candid shots (approx. every other page or less), gorgeous photography of different areas, full page bios of "the greats" such as Ford, Cooper, Eastwood & Redford, lengthy descriptions of the beautiful, well-known movies filmed in the Southwest, and much more. This book can be easily used for a cinephile's road trip, and at home as a useful movie guide. Most importantly, it's written by someone who clearly loves the subject matter and often interjects with incredibly thoughtful input for the reader. Well done!
