the cinemin does project an image in VERY LOW to NO LIGHTING conditions IF 1-the output device ALREAY has an 1/8" video out connection, or 2-the iPod connected via iPod cable is set to external output AND is PLAYing a video or slideshow (i.e., you can't see the iPod screen on the Cinemin while you're scrolling through the menus or individual photos), or 3- the additional $40 adaptor is purchased to allow SVGA connection from a computer.

I mainly bought this for my Cinemin Swivel Multimedia Pico Projector so that I can project from my PC. It works as expected. It is very compact in size and design. All the connectors come with the package, even a tiny VGA cable.
But, there is no configuration option available on the device. Other similar converters (same price range) have some buttons on them to customize, though those lack the compact look.
If you are willing to buy a converter only for Cinemin Swivel, you can buy this. But, if you are thinking of multipurpose use, you might consider looking at other similar products with more options.

it works good, although sometimes the cable get a little lose, and the image gets recolored, but you just need to press it agian and the colors come back.

When I purchased the cinamini pico I also got AV converter. I have had it for a about six months now and have used it many times. Everytime used it has functioned perfectly.
One of the nice features is that it recharges the projector while it is used. It is also small and lightweight and easy to travel with. There ends up being a lot of different cables. At first it's a little confusing and a bit overwhelming. But very puntional when you figure it all out.

I've been waiting for this to come out since I bought a Swivel a couple of years ago. If you want to play movies from your computer, it's a must-have. Only downside is that the wires are a bit short, and it requires it's own power source, so it takes up more room than you'd expect.

But it works like a charm, and is not that big itself.

When I travel overseas, my cinemin projector is my in-room entertainmen as I'm not much on TV and with this converter, I don't need to depend on my WDTV to decode everything. Paired with my netbook, I can play any video format and leave the WDTV at home.

for a bit of fun in the room, to see some videos from your iPod or portable DVD. not the best but at least you can enjoy some economic videos with your friends.

Returned for refund because the Cinemin swivel projector never worked. Lost $10 returning the projector and lost $5 returning the swap. This is my last mail order....ever.

The Cinemin Swap works as advertised. Now I can use the Cinemin Swivel on both my laptop and netbook.
