This cable works fine if your phone supports Micro SD flash,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: For Cingular LG CU500 CU320 CU400 L1400 USB Cable (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This cable is a good value at the price, but its use may be misunderstood. You must use it in conjunction with an optional 1 Gigabyte (check your manual, my phone won't recognize 2G) expansion Micro SD flash memory card. This item can be purchased online in bulk packaging (also includes the standard Compact Flash adapter for use on non-micro devices) for around $6.50 each - be sure to buy Sandisk vs. off brands. There are reports of some non-Sandisk cards not being recognized in LG phones.
Once you've installed the micro sd card, connect your phone to the PC via this cable. When Windows prompts you to install new hardware (the phone), hit "CANCEL". You don't need to install any drivers. Once you've cleared all the auto-install Windows prompts, the flash card will show up as a removable storage device under "My Computer". Now, for file management, you can now transfer files (e.g. ringtones, image files) directly to the flashcard in the phone from the PC. To extract files from the phone's internal memory (e.g pictures taken with the phone), you will first need to move them to the flashcard. This is done via the phone's internal file manangement menu, and must be done with the phone DISCONNECTED from the PC. You can also move anything on the flashcard to phone's internal memory via this method. I have done this successfully with an LG CU500 phone, locked for Cingular. Actually, I could have done all this WITHOUT the cable, by installing the flashcard in the phone, moving internal files to the card, then removing the flashcard and putting it in the adapter for use on the PC. But the cable is a convenience item that eliminates the need for constant movement of the card from the phone to the PC. And, at around $2 plus shipping, the cable is a good value and the quality is fully satisfactory.

Cingular LG cable doesnt work,

This review is from: For Cingular LG CU500 CU320 CU400 L1400 USB Cable (Wireless Phone Accessory)
THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!! It is suppose to make it so you can transfer data from cell phone to computer, I wanted to take my pictures from my phone and upload to computer. NO WAY!
the cable comes with a id number on it and you have to get the driver off the disk that comes with it. I have tried on 2 different computer systems to make it work. I dont know if the cable was marked with the wrong number or what the problem is. The disk has 40+ files on it, I dont know if one of the other drivers would work, but I am very frustrated.
