Oh if only we could all be loved so deeply; and give love so intensely! This book held my attention to the end. It was inspiring to the 50+ ladies. Cinnamon had it all...love, smarts, career, family, friends and wealth, integrity, and spirituality! A great story, a prolific writer. Waiting for "Brown's Possession"!

Secure in Love, April 28, 2007
This review is from: Cinnamon's Universe: Book II of Black's Trilogy (Paperback)
Oh, my! Can you really have your cake and eat it too? Cinnamon's Universe, Book II of Black's Trilogy by ac Vernon Menchan, is an intense read. Cinnamon Dubois Brown tells her story of being loved by many, but being in love, in all sense of the word with two strong, wealthy black men.
Cinnamon is a freelance writer, mother of two smart children, friends to many, a wife and lover. She tells it like it is with the sharp edge of her tongue. When her best male friend Malcolm Black's mother dies, Cinnamon dives heart first into a place that she may never be able to pull herself from. From the outside looking in, many thought that Cinnamon was a spoiled self-centered woman, but at fifty, she could care less what people thought. Just as long as it did not hurt her husband, who she loved dearly.
Black had professed the love that he had for Cinnamon a year earlier, but that did not make her husband, William James Brown, prevent them from being friends. Was it because he was keeping the competition close, or was it because he had his own secret world that his wife knew nothing about?
As many people as Cinnamon had loving her, there seemed to be just as many envious or mad because of the type of person she was. Cinnamon did not allow any of that to break her stride and held her head up high. But does life as she knew it become a little too much? Will she be able to continue to have her cake and it too, or has she bitten off more than she can swallow?
Cinnamon's Universe, Book II of Black's Trilogy, had me so consumed with the story that I need and want to see how it all began, starting in Black's Obsession. I am truly interested in what is to come next, in Brown's Possession the third and final installment into this wonderful world of love and strength.
If you want to fully see that life does not end once you hit fifty, this book is for you. If you want a chance to see it is possible to love more than one person, this book is for you. I recommend this book to readers that truly love reading a different type of literary work, that will keep you consumed and filled from cover to cover.
