5.0 out of 5 stars The most powerful book i have read.
The Cipher of Genesis by Carlo Suares is the most powerful book I have ever read about the subject of the "purpose" of man in relation to himself and the universe. 2.0 out of 5 stars A wasted mind
It is really a shame that a reasonably intelligent man has wasted so much time and effort on this incoherent, rambling works. I've read that studying the Kabbalah can have adverse effects on the mind if certain safeguards aren't followed, and that is the only explanation for such a work. this work does not provide a cipher of Genesis or anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most powerful book i have read., April 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cipher of Genesis (Hardcover)
The Cipher of Genesis by Carlo Suares is the most powerful book I have ever read about the subject of the "purpose" of man in relation to himself and the universe. If you have gotten to where all things fall short of explaining the mystery that is present, this book may be a very influential one for you. The mystery of existance will elude man always, yet how mired in the slavery to belief is the one who insists that he knows? The purpose of man is not somewhere in the future nor in the past. The revelation is now. Life is now. The purpose in man is now! We are the meeting of forces beyond our comprehension. The mystery will always elude the mind, yet the mind must not allow itself to elude the mystery. That is, the mystery is a presence, the recognition of the mystery is that presence. There will not be an explanation as to why even the smallest speck of dust would exist. There is no mystery greater than any other. If you have seeked and have found that you are not willing to take any offers of security or power then perhaps the years of earnest and inspired research that Carlo Suares has done will help you to be even more in touch with the mystery that you are, even unto yourself. If you will not stop, if you will not be satisfied with just accepting this situation that you are in, as an inhabitor of a body in a universe, I hope you will use this book as a tool to be fully your function as a human. This is not about serving a god. This is about the function of man as man. ps everytime I say man I mean human being.

5.0 out of 5 stars GENESIS BEYOND RELIGION, December 17, 2006
This review is from: The Cipher of Genesis: Using the Qabalistic Code to Interpret the First Book of the Bible and the Teachings of Jesus (Paperback)
Genesis is the cornerstone text for the three major religions of the western world - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - yet those religions have lost the original message of its profound wisdom. Carlo Suares reveals that Genesis is written in a code. This code, when understood, projects hidden knowledge concerning the structure and function of the universe and of life itself, into the human mind, germinating transformation into a deeper level of perception. It's no coincidence that the central image of the Genesis story is Eve eating the fruit that opens both hers and Adam's eyes. Perception is the key to human transformation and it is feminine awareness, within the psyches of both men and women, that fertilizes this transformation. Far from being a sinner, Eve is actually the hero of this story, which is easy to see once the code has been broken.

Handed down through religion's false interpretations for more than 3000 years, this ancient story has been waiting for a prophet to reveal its truth. Suares opens the doors of religion's illusions, revealing that Genesis is not about the first couple of the human race, or any God. It's about human perception and how it can be transformed so that any individual can attain deep clarity. As Jesus said, we need to get the logs out of our eyes so we can see that heaven is within us. We have never been separate from God's light, never will be and never can. Religion creates false barriers between people and God which must be dissolved, ushering in the transformation that saves us from all ullusory thinking.

The Cipher of Genesis is an instruction manual that teaches us how to attain the transformed perception that enables us to move beyond religion, beyond ethnic and racial superficialities, beyond all divisive categories, into the one simple truth that unites us all, our own humanity. It also teaches us that being human is much more profound and uplifting than we imagine. To be truly human is to be angelic, happy and wise. If we aren't happy and wise we're missing out on our party.

This is not an easy read. It takes patience, perseverance and committment. I've written an explanation of sorts, The Secret Dowry of Eve, available from Amazon. Try both.

5.0 out of 5 stars A significant midrash, December 13, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Cipher of Genesis: Using the Qabalistic Code to Interpret the First Book of the Bible and the Teachings of Jesus (Paperback)
Suares presents a vision of the Qabala accessible to minds that are free from superstition and supernatural dogma. His midrash of Genesis frees the Qabala from the archaic myths surrounding it, allowing it to resurrect in glory and splendour. His translation of Genesis transcends rigid, canonical boundaries, revelaing the very essence of the Qabala as the perception of the mystery of existence. The Qabala is revealed as the explosive core at the heart of scripture - a focus of intense life that destroys obselete structures, dying and resurrecting, burying its past as it fulfills it, resurrecting in splendour, eluding the grasp of consciousness.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heavy stuff, the way a kabbalah book should be, August 23, 2005
This review is from: The Cipher of Genesis: Using the Qabalistic Code to Interpret the First Book of the Bible and the Teachings of Jesus (Paperback)
The Universe was not done in a day. Therefore, understanding truth will only be revealed at the right time and the right moment. That was when, I found this book. A wonderful read.

The most absurd part of the book is the last chapter that deals with circumcised men. I think Carlo has a phallic hang up of some sort. According to Carlo, the Jew being circumcised in 8 days is superior in intelligence. The Muslim, who is circumcises at 13 is not really capable of intellectual pursuits( who does he think gave us so much science, architecture, and so on before some parts of the religion became so radicalized? And, of course, the uncircumcised, are a sub species. It should be noted that carlo is of Jewish heritage and that's okay as many of us have some Jewish heritage.

In conclusion, I couldn't get past the half way mark and decided to give it up. Good luck to anyone else.
