3.0 out of 5 stars Range is misleading. See review
I bought this for its Class 1, 300 foot rating. However I was getting only 30 foot so I called Cirago.
The rep stated that for DATA the range is only 30 feet or so with the BTA6210. It is AUDIO that will go 300 feet.

Make sure you have up to date Toshiba drivers. They seem to work with W7 64 bit.

So your rating might vary depending on...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great hardware... Wish it worked for me., September 27, 2009

This item is a little difficult for me review. Did not work as expected for me.

I scoured the net looking for the "best" USB Bluetooth Adapter for my desktop pc as it did not come with Bluetooth capabilities. There are many available and at all kinds of price ranges. This one caught my attention as it is a Class 1 EDR compliant device. I purchased this adapter for one reason only, to connect my Bluetooth headset for VoIP calling.

Order and shipping time: Excellent. The quality: Excellent. The ease of install/use: Excellent. The range: Excellent. The ability to locate/pair with other devices: Excellent. The ability to use with my headset: Terrible.

My Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset (best on the market) works beautifully with other devices, but not this one. The sound pops and becomes scratchy at any distance. This headset sounds amazing paired with any other device.

I would definitely recommend this adapter to anyone who needs to pair with phone/mouse/keyboard/printer. You may not find a better adapter currently on the market. I want to give this product 5 stars, but as it does not meet my needs and I must look for another, I cannot rate it at 5.

So your rating might vary depending on what you are using the Bluetooth for. I was using it to tether so was unimpressed and my older dongle performed the same for that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product - Needs Correct Instructions for Windows 7, February 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper (Personal Computers)
The install went OK, but kept getting error messages from Win 7.

Wrote to Cirago. Got unclear response as to correct install procedure.

Here is the procedure I followed and then sent to Cirago for their use:

To install the Windows 7 drivers -

Right click on an empty portion of your desktop screen to bring up a list.

Left click on New then Folder.

Left click on the un-named new folder and right click on rename. Then type in a name such as Cirago Bluetooth Adapter.

Download the compressed .zip files from Cirago's support page to your desktop: [...]
Extract these files to the new folder.

Click to open the new folder.

Double-click on "Toshiba Stack" and then on "Setup".

Follow the instructions to uninstall the old drivers and install the new drivers.

You will need to restart your computer at the prompt for these changes to take effect.

BTW, if you used the mini disk to install the drivers as I did, and then you go to the normal update driver process, Win 7 told me I have the most recent drivers already installed, which is incorrect.

Wonderful range, 100% reliable, Toshiba BT stack and works with the MS stack also. Just download the latest Toshiba BT stack, the included disk downloads it in the installer, and you have the best Bluetooth USB dongle you could want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small & Works on Vista x64 with diNovo Mouse/Keyboard, March 4, 2009

I bought it to replace the big Logitech Bluetooth dongle that came with the diNovo Laser mouse and keyboard set, it was bumped and snapped off, oops...

It's very small, I don't even need to take it out of the computer when putting it in my backpack.

On Vista 64 Bit the supplied drivers work with the diNovo mouse and keyboard but not so much with the media pad (the display just says "Logitech", none of the music information or email previews work).

After I installed the drivers and checked Windows Update and there was a new driver available, when this one was installed (and I re-paired the devices) the media pad went back to the way it worked with the old Logitech dongle.

It's got a little blue light on that blinks almost constantly. It's not annoying, just another led happily blinking away (about as bright as the HD indicator light on my HP Pavilion dv9827tl)

So my suggestion is to use the drivers from Windows Update and leave the drivers that come with it in the box. If you use Logitech devices this should work fine with the driver from Windows Update. All of the status information like battery status show up in the Mouse and Keyboard settings and the music and email preview works perfectly on the media pad. Couldn't be happier with this Bluetooth adapter - an excellent replacement to the stock Logitech dongle

5.0 out of 5 stars Item functions well, February 4, 2009
This review is from: Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper (Personal Computers)
I bought the adapter to sync with my Verizon VX6800. The bluetooth device is perfect. Active Sync, on the other hand, has issues. :) For a quick implementation, I recommend not installing the Cirago drivers, as they are too configurable. Just let Windows detect the device and install its own drivers. Shipping, etc. was just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good range, simple install, Windows 7 friendly, August 25, 2010

This review is from: Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper (Personal Computers)
There isn't a lot more to say than this Bluetooth device works well, and is simple to install.

If you're running Windows 7, simply plug it in.. that's it, and it's working. No CD or drivers to install, you'll see the Bluetooth icon appear in your tray after a minute or so and you can start searching for devices.

This is a class 1 bluetooth device (higher power) and has good range for devices. I'm using it for a Wacom tablet with my art workstation, and it worked great.
