If you looking for solution to view your digital photos, video, music and be able to have DVR capability with no monthly fees - Cirago could be an affordable device that could do this for you if it would not be a Junk.

The Bad:

1. Customer supports none existent.

2. Week remote control, operating distance is too short. Universal control improves the distance, but a problem is within Cirago unit itself.

3. Slow operating system and questionable firmware makes this unit worst on the market.

4. In the process of files and folders selection jumps through several lines, in most cases does not accepts the remote commands from a first attempt or responds with long delay.

5. On power on, system intermittently does not find Network drive, ether on wired or wireless Network, and restart is required several times to make the system find the drive.

6. On power on, system intermittently does not produce the sound output and restart is required several times to make the system work.

7. Internal Hard Drive recording capability only for FAT32 system only.

8. LAN hardware is limited to 10/100.

The good:

1. Plays all video formats I tried so far.

2. Plays all audio formats I tried so far.

3. Records live TV and any Audio-Video source connected to the unit.

4. Pauses live TV up to 30 Minutes.

5. Picture quality is good.

My recommendation is to stay away from this product, instead purchase WD TV Live as a media player.

Unfortunately I was not able to find decent combination of DVR and Media Player as of today.

I got it very quickly, it's nothin bad on amazon's end but on the cirago end, its big and bulky, the face was loose, felt like it was going to fall off,

So i power this thing up for the first time, im thinking coo! Then I hook it up to my computer and try to transfer files and it says drive not recognized on WinXP Pro, Then it shut down on me, that was the end of the story, its goin back now. I would stay away from this.

Isn't as easy to use as described as a DVR or to record shows on the tv. Still haven't figured out how to label shows with the name of the tv show so have to go thru them to find the right one. Some of the controls are a little confusing to figure out because the directions aren't the greatest. Was going to return this but it took 2 weeks to get here and then after trying to figure it out it had been several days over the 30 days from date of order. We'll see how it does as an actual external harddrive but we ordered it for the DVR capabilities and it isn't worth the price to me. Slowly figuring it out so maybe my mind will change when we get it all figured out.

This thing worked twice then the power supply croaked. I work with electronics so I opened it up. The soldering was terrible. Components were shorted together; I was dirty and sloppy just all around poor workmanship. I am surprised it worked at all. long story short, I was not able to fix it myself. Now I am jumping through hoops with their return policy. I would just buy a new power supply/cord, but this damn thing has a funky connector. (4 prongs. 1, 12volts. 1, 5volts and 2 grounds. The hard drove is useless without it.

Run far, far, away from Cirago.

Got it today. Tomorrow it'll go back for refund.

Bad:

1) Remote control is very weak and need to be pointed very precisely toward sensor.

2) Was able to access WI-FI only with disabled WLAN security (no WPA-PSK). So, I couldn't use WLAN. And it was useless, since every computer I tried to access from this device asked me to enter username/password (obviously). And it was no onscreen keyboard.

3) Device is not accessible over the network from other computers. When I typed its IP in browser, I got sample cgi to find a sum of two numbers (I'm not kidding!). These guys better work on their firmware to make it useful

4) Had to connect it via USB to upload files.

5) IT DOESN'T PLAY H.264 FILES. I can probably wait till they release new firmware to fix network capability, but this is not acceptable. H.264 is now a standard used in HD and mp4. My understanding it doesn't support 1090p resolution

Good:

1) Starts without any problems.

2) Plays divx files ok.

Didn't try:

I didn't try to record anything. So, can't comment

Conclusion:

Buy WD TV HD Media Player and get external USB hard drive

Remote is worthless. You have to be within 2 feet to get it work if the unit takes the signal, most of the time you have to try repeatedly. The unit worked for a month, the it won't accept any commands. PLEASE...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM.
