In ten years of working for the Damask Circle, shapeshifter Katherine Tanner has never come across anything like this child-murdering monster. Although she doesn’t want to confront it, the Circle gives her little choice. The last thing she needs is interference from a cop who doesn’t know what he’s up against.Ethan Morgan’s niece is missing and he’s determined to bring her back alive and catch the monster behind these kidnappings. He will use anyone to achieve his aims - even a woman who claims to be a witch.Forced to join forces, Ethan and Kat struggle to uncover clues that will lead them to the monster’s lair. Yet time is ticking away and the monster rarely keeps victims alive for more than seven days. Four of those days have already passed. But it soon becomes clear that the greatest threat to Kat might not come from the forces of darkness, but from the man she is beginning to love.

5.0 out of 5 stars strong paranormal thriller, September 20, 2003
This review is from: Circle of Desire (Damask Circle, Book 3) (Paperback)
Something is kidnapping children. Gwen and Kat Tanner found two of them, but their souls were ripped out of their bodies. The police think someone mortal is to blame but Gwen and her granddaughter Kat, believe it is an evil spirit known as a mara. In its spirit form, it is invulnerable but when it takes the shape of a human, it can be killed like a regular vampire. Kate and Gwen, members of the Damask Circle, are more than capable of killing the mara because they are shape shifting psychic witches.

One of the missing children is the niece of Ethan Morgan, a police officer who is also a werewolf. He intends to stay with the Tanner women until they find Janie. Kat and Ethan are immediately attracted to one another but he thinks that is only moon fever because a werewolf can only love once and he gave his heart away years ago. As the two shapeshifters battle the evil forces mara throws at them Kat finds herself believing that Ethan is her true love even if he denies it.

Action, romance and magic, all that and more can be found between the pages of CIRCLE OF DESIRE. Keri Arthur is one of the bright shining lights in the paranormal genre and each book she writes is fascinating, seductive and spellbinding. Her latest is no exception and the fact that her two lead proponents are both shifters makes the romance that much more interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riley Jensen fans must read - Worth it for the 'moon ceremony' alone, October 26, 2007
This review is from: Circle of Desire (Damask Circle, Book 3) (Paperback)
Circle of Desire, is third in the Keri Arthur's older Circle series. All three are great stand-alone paranormal suspense romances, but this is my favorite of the three. I just love the hero, deeply sensual Ethan, who is both cop and a werewolf. A otherworldly serial killer who steals children keeps them for several days and then kills them has stolen Ethan's niece. So when Ethan finds himself partnered on a search with hawk-shifter Kat, they have to keep hunting even during his moon time in order to find the child before it is too late. The story is set in the same world as Arthur's Riley Jensen books, so during the days around the full moon, wolves are highly sexual. Kat and Ethan hook up for what is supposed to be only sex, in order to keep Ehtan's wolf satisfied and him functioning. But the intensity of their passion sweeps Kat away and she can't help but fall in love, despite his warning not to fall in love with him --a wolf only loves once and his heart was already given.

I really enjoyed Circle of Desire. It was very original and both the paranormal elements and the romance were very well done, but the best part was that Circle of Desire includes a beautiful scene with the 'moon ceremony' that Arthur's characters refer to in the Riley Jensen books. I loved this book, but it was worth buying for that scene alone. So if you are Riley Jensen fan, you really need to put this book on your list.

4.0 out of 5 stars I"M ON A ROLL!, June 11, 2007
This review is from: Circle of Desire (Damask Circle, Book 3) (Paperback)
I just started reading Keri Arthur's novels this year. I really enjoyed reading this one for the same reason I enjoyed reading her other novels. I don't like reading a book and just about know what's going to happen. I like turning a corner not knowing what to expect....a lot of surprises!
Can't wait until August when her new book comes out.
