1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 T. vanilla extract

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; mix well and set aside. In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugars until well blended. Add egg, egg yolk and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture into butter mixture; stir until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Form dough into balls, 1/4 cup at a time; place 2 inches apart on greased or parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes, or until edges are golden. Cool on baking sheets for several minutes; transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Makes about 15.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, but not Kindle friendly December 22, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded this book a few minutes ago and spent some time looking over each recipe. They all look great and I can't wait to try some of them!

However, it is not very easy to navigate. There is no Table of Contents to click to go to a certain recipe. So this is what I figured out:

Within the book, click the menu button and Go To. Go to the Table of Contents, then click on the Index. From the Index, you can navigate the recipes instead of turning pages. The numerical location of the Index is 232 if you would rather do it that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars How can a cookie cookbook be wrong? January 8, 2011
By Nawora
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love these little cookbooks, especially on the kindle. It's just a plain, simple, cookbook full of nothing but chocolate chip recipes. Some are simple, well used recipes, while some are a little more elaborate, and while I haven't tried them all, there aren't any that seem so far out there with ingredients you can't find or afford.

It's nice to have little cookbooks like these right on the kindle, which I tote along everywhere. It makes it handy when I'm at the store and decide on the spur of the moment that I want to bake, I can quickly bring this book up, glance through, find a new recipe to try, and grab the ingredients then and there.

You're not going to find any gourmet recipes in here, just different variations on chocolate chip cookies. But it's got a great little index at the end that lets you see them all at a glance. All the recipes look great and the few I've tried (Best-ever chocolate chunk, chocolately peppermint, soft chocolate, and icebox) have turned out perfect. If you like chocolate chip cookies, and want to try some different recipes, this is a great little book to download.

5.0 out of 5 stars 25 Cookie Recipes January 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you LOVE cookies ~ and are adventursome, this is the cookbook for you. Granted, not the easiest to navigate, but take a few moments, scroll through it, see what looks appealing (put fav's on an index card ~ try it, if you hate the results, toss the card ~ Put "keepers" in a favorite tin). I found many new Fav's in this book. In this "Chocolate Chip" collection (remember, ALL the recipes have chocolate chips), you get LOTS of promising recipes. Here's a short list out of the 25: Soft, Crispy, Banana, Pumpkin, Cranberry, Tropical, Peppermint, Toffee, Peanut Butter, Cherry, Hazelnut, Coconut, Granola and Biscotti.

5.0 out of 5 stars THERE IS A TABLE OF CONTENTS IN THIS COOKBOOK! April 19, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Hey guys!

So, I am an ametuar cooker at this moment. I am getting better everyday and when I saw 4 free cookbooks that looked cute and fun, I just about peed my pants. I purchased it and gave it the moment to load and I was so happy with it when I started to look through it. The format was perfect for kindle.

There have been people saying that this book is not worth purchasing because there is no table of contents! THERE IS ONE. If that is what is holding you back from buying, please read! If you buy the book (do it; it's free and if I am wrong you can just delete it), go to the "go to" section on the "menu" of the book. When it pops up, you will see 5 options of places to go: the TABLE OF CONTENTS, beginning, cover, end, and location. People must have gotten confused because the format of where the Table of Contents is very strange. It comes after the index (like in most Kindle Cookbooks).

This is a great book and a wonderful resource. Please purchase! You won't regret it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and easy receipes !! March 18, 2011
By Anne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Here is a great selection of cookie receipes, easy to make and lots of different choices. The only downside is that the receipes are in my kindle and not in my receipe box. So far I don't cook with my kindle on the counter but I have hand copied some of the receipes and use them that way. A great free E-book find.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs editing/testing March 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've made a couple of these cookie recipes and while they are a good starting point it seems that there are typos and incorrect directions. I got it for free so it is tough to complain however, if you are an inexperienced baker this book will be problematic. For example, 'drop by teaspoonfuls' generally should be 'drop by tablespoonfuls' - the larger cookie seems to correspond to the recipe yields, however the baking time is for the smaller cookie so you have to adjust baking times. Another example is the directions for Gran's White Chocolate & Cranberry Cookies where the steps are repetitive - instructing you to stir the flour into the sugar (which had already been beaten with the butter) and then to add the flour to the sugar/butter mixture. The Peanut Butter-Chocolate Oatmeal cookie baking temperature seemed a bit low (and consequently the baking time seemed off). I've made a note to try it at 375 and see if that works better. Now if you are an experienced baker, you can definitely adjust on the fly as needed but it is a good idea to read through the recipe and be flexible. I would probably be a little upset if I paid for this book and I would probably not actually purchase any Circle of Friends books.
