His critics dismiss Texe Marrs with the label "Fundamentalist Christian." So be it. But at least he takes a stand. At least he reads the Bible of his faith. At least he applies it to the world around him.

His critics dismiss Texe Marrs with the label "Fundamentalist Christian." So be it. But at least he takes a stand. At least he reads the Bible of his faith. At least he applies it to the world around him.

I like Marrs' books. They have the excitement of conspiracy theory. But grounded in Bible study. If you don't believe in the Bible (or are afraid your friends will think you're a nut if you do) you probably won't like his books. But if you're into Bible prophecy, and use the Christian Bible to guide your life, then I think you'll appreciate Marrs' perspective.

I'll admit, I try not to put any Christian writer on a pedestal. God is still the definitive Author. But there's a place for writers who use the Bible to comment on current events. I appreciate the work they do. Especially when it prompts me to go back and read Bible passages they've pointed out.

So, Mr. Marrs: I thank you for taking so much flak, yet still keeping the faith. And I eagerly await your next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very revealing, August 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Circle of Intrigue (Paperback)
I found both much information that I had already known about and much very revealing information that I had not previously known about in this book. It is very much based on factual materials. The unfortunate thing is that many people won't wake up to the facts even when it hits them square between the eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding revelations about the illuminati conspiracy, January 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Circle of Intrigue (Paperback)
Texe Marrs really names the people behind the global conspiracy and explains what they intend to do to us. Here in the pages of CIRCLE OF INTRIGUE is the astounding facts about who controls President Bill Clinton and all the other puppet politicians. If you don't believe there is a conspiracy to end American sovereignty and create a gestapo police state in the USA order this book and you'll never doubt again. A special feature of the book is the revelation that the two political parties, democrat and republican, or both owned and controlled by the same cabalistic clique of super-rich illuminati. CIRCLE OF INTRIGUE actually identifies the top ranks of this conspiratorial elite. Of all the books you may ever read on the illuminati and conspiracy, this is the one most documented and most captivating and gripping. A must read!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Circle of Intrigue indeed:, October 12, 2008
Let me first state that I'm not a religious person, but Texe Marrs is. However, I personally believe we should be spiritual individuals and not convolute our ideas with religious doctrine.

What I didn't like in the "Circle of Intrigue" was Texe's pontifical bible thumping from a religious stand point, while using scriptures to prognosticate an apocalyptic future. However, I do feel there are times when it is necessary to do so.

It is interesting to note that Texe said, "The Illuminati use[s] men like (Bill) Clinton, (Newt) Gingrich, (Trent) Lott, and (Colin) Powell- as well as statesmen like Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski and Warren Christopher- as cannon fodder for their revolutionary objectives. They make such men temporary stars and then they cast them into obscurity, as it suits their purpose. But rarely do the `servants' break into the Inner Circle." In laymen's terms Texe is saying that all our officials (elected or otherwise) are nothing but patsies, puppets, and scapegoats, and our government is fallacious, which means we really don't have a stake in the outcome of any decision because the Inner Circle stacked the deck already.

This book conveys Texe's belief that only ten people control the world, which is an interesting supposition and is probably the most accurate one suffice it to say, but he also propagates that their mission in life is the egregious usurpation of Jesus Christ's ruler-ship, while condemning everyone into the abyss of Satan's New World Order.
Personally, I agree that their mission is to maintain the New World Order, but I disagree with Texe on the religious aspect.

Elites this powerful don't believe an anything but control and hegemony. I believe "The Inner Circle" are hegemonic atheist, they don't believe in anything. However, they will use religion to control the populace. This is what I think individual bible thumping patriots like Texe don't comprehend. I'm not trying to offend Mr. Marrs, I respect his work, but this book was too repetitive. He would continuously repeat himself over and over again...when he could have elaborated on the subject matter in question, which leaves me to believe he didn't have much to say with any real depth.
He manages to lose sight of the conspirators he's discussing in favor of bible quotes, which in the whole scheme of things is irrelevant. However, there is plenty of info that you will find useful in this book once you manage to sift through all the biblical scriptures.

Texe names these families and individuals as the Inner Circle of elites that control pretty much the entire world, as we know it.

1: The Rothschilds
2: The Rockefellers
3: The Habsburgs
4: Juan Carlos of the Bourbon family of France
5: The Bronfman Dynasty
6: Lord Peter Carrington
7: The Oppenheimers
8: Rupert Murdoch......and so on...

He also claims that the Inner Circle controls these organizations and many others to numerous to name.

1: The Council on Foreign Relations
2: The Trilateral Commission
3: The Bilderberg Group
4: The Priory of Sion (Which I believe the Vatican is the Priory of Sion.)
5: Skull and Bones
6: Freemasonry
7: The CIA, most (if not all) alphabet agencies..... and so on...

Overall, don't pass this book up there's a plethora of info that is relevant today considering that the world economy is imploding on itself with the bailouts of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, also the now dated Enron scandal leaves an umbra over our sacred land, plus let's not forget "The Security and Prosperity Partnership" agreement (aka The North American Union) that George Bush and the Trilateralist were signing off on. Moreover, all of these corporate mergers transpiring should concern us all considering each merger brings us one step closer to Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini's vision of a communist/fascist New World Order, which when thoroughly examined are both identical ideologies.
But let's keep in mind that the New World Order is here already. What we are witnessing is the Illuminati's maintenance program in progress.
Nonetheless, Texe's book provides many answers needed to properly ascertain whose really orchestrating all of this, but I'm not sure if his solutions are realistic. Waiting for Jesus to come is rather banal considering we as a collective have free will and we should exercise our right to use it like he taught us in the Bible. And whether we believe he was real, or an allegory should not matter, it's Jesus' revolutionary principles that really counts and that's what will save us in the end.

For Further Reading I suggest:

Milton William Cooper "Behold a Pale Horse" (Please ignore the references to Space aliens and project MJ12)

Howard Zinn "A People's History of the United States" (For a historical overview of American suffrage)

Noam Chomsky "Hegemony or Survival"

Jim Marrs "Rule by Secrecy" (Please make a note ignore the Annunaki Space alien nonsense in that book.)

I hope my review was helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely and Perfectly Believable, November 23, 2008
In a world full of conspiracy theories, this one makes perfect sense. It is no longer wise to be ignorant as once was thought....."ignorance is bliss". Now is the time to be doing your research and this book is fundamental to understanding the times we live in. Not only does this book unveil and unmask the clandestine affairs of men but Texe Marrs also explains how easily Washington is seduced and controlled by money and the few elite who have it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thought Provoking, but Steeped in the Lingo of the Genre, July 29, 1998
This review is from: Circle of Intrigue (Paperback)
Conspiritorial writing at its best and worst. This book has enough facts, coincidences, and historical references to make a conspiratorialist out of anyone. Unfortunately, the author has difficulty seperating his emotion from his reason and this shows in his writing. Instead of presenting his thesis and supporting information from a factual/rational perspective, he loads his dialog with dramatics. The sensationalist style can be an immediate turn-off to a reader not willing to see past the authors style to the heart of Marrs' argument. My advice is read past the words and take a look at the world around you, then draw your own conclusions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone Should Read this book, January 14, 2006
This man knows what he is talking about. Even though he has a lot of religious overtones, which I do not agree with necessarily, it is still a very good book. He seems to know the score. I would recommend this book to all people interested in politics of this country and the world. Also, people of all religious persuasions should review this book as it explains something about the human plight here in the U.S.A. and in other parts of the world. It explains about evil. He is absolutely correct on some the items on the agenda but is missing or failing to inform on more important issues. Fantastic book. Right on the money

4.0 out of 5 stars Wake up!, May 26, 2001

Most of the world is deaf, dumb, and blind. 85% of the population believes exactly what is printed, stated and vocalized, through out the media. Cospiracies are hard to swallow, but if you believe Robert F. Kennedy, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Jesus Christ were killed ~ or should I say murdered, just simply because of circumstances, then you are part of that 85%.This book could have been better, however, was accurate with the information that was stated. This novel is more of a reference book than anything else. Other authors that share the same opinions and facts are William T. Cooper and Ralph Epperson.
