Christians and Pagans alike can find inspiration, September 19, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Circle of Mysteries: The Women's Rosary Book (Paperback)
This book honors the Divine Feminine on three levels: that of the Transcendent, that of the Holy -- but also human -- Mother Mary, and that of a 'common' woman. It takes the readers through the Mysteries of the Rosary in a way which opens up their intimate, immediate connections to the lives of human women while maintaining a reverent awareness of the Divine. As a Christo-Pagan, I found it especially moving, since there are very few books which express profound mysteries in language and imagery which honors both the Christian and Pagan paths. It is also especially moving for mothers, since the Mysteries of Mary are intimately connected with

For Those Who Have Abandoned the Rosary, November 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Circle of Mysteries: The Women's Rosary Book (Paperback)
Long ago I stopped finding any importance in the rosary and almost didn't read this jewel of a book. If you thought you knew what the rosary was to accomplish, forget all preconceived notions. This book presents a fresh look and a gentle language. Read it. It might just change your life!

A book that's a prayer, May 26, 2007
This review is from: Circle of Mysteries: The Women's Rosary Book (Paperback)
In Circle of Mysteries, Weber marshals not only her impressive scholarship as a Doctor of Divinity and her thoughtful insight into human nature as a licensed spiritual counselor and chaplain but also shares generously of the deep spiritual awareness that pervades her life. Structured in a format similar to the divisions in the rosary itself, the book offers narrative in the form of memoir as Weber takes us into the experience of the rosary as it touches her life and the lives of other women. She then allows Mother Wisdom to speak reminding us of our strength and beauty. In the meditations on each bead Weber introduces us to Mary herself, gently lifting the mother of Christ off the pedestal where religion has placed her and restoring her to us as sister and beloved friend.
I am still reading Circle of Mysteries. I don't believe I'll ever really finish. I'll just keep reading and rereading it. I think this might be your experience as well.
