The Potential of a Single Coherent Wish!,
By Donald Mitchell "Jesus Loves You!" (Thanks for Providing My Reviews over 109,000 Helpful Votes Globally) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (TOP 100 REVIEWER)
This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
The Circle covers material that will seem familiar to those who have read Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich and others), Norman Vincent Peale (The Power of Positive Thinking), Deepak Chopra (Creating Affluence), and Anthony Robbins (Awaken the Giant Within). Readers who found those books helpful will find that The Circle brings their understanding of the power of focus to a new and more refined level. The Circle is especially good for clarifying the psychological states that lead to accomplishing important desires. Although the book refers to concepts that many associate with spiritual beliefs, Ms. Day encourages you to see the book as independent of any particular religion or set of spiritual beliefs. She also says that it is just fine to reframe her words here to fit into your own religious or spiritual beliefs. The book's key point is that "what you perceive, what you conceive, and what you create are one . . . ." The concept is developed in three parts: initiation ("In your initiation, you discover your one true wish and put it into the language of The Circle."), apprenticeship, and mastery. These three parts are broken in turn into a total of nine steps: (1) Intention -- You pick a single wish that is "specific, positive, passionate, and present." (2) Embodiment -- You create "reality" tales and songs, and meditate in ways that make the wish more real to yourself. (3) Ritual -- You follow new rituals that you create to help you achieve your wish and eliminate old habits that would undermine you. (4) Finding Luck (or Synchronicity) -- You learn to look for meaningful coincidences and tap into them. Often, opportunity will look like a problem, a setback, or a distraction. Pay attention! (5) Make Room for Your Wish -- "Open your hand and let go of things that you have onto out of habit for years . . . ." (6) Achieve Coherence -- Eliminate overt cross-purposes that pull you away from your wish. (7) Eliminate External Roadblocks -- See each one as an "inspiring challenge" that brings you closer to achieving your wish. (8) Eliminate Subconscious Roadblocks -- Let go of unconscious and outdated wishes, and hidden agendas. In attempting to deal with these other intentions, you may realize that your wish needs to be changed to better reflect what you really want. (9) Create and Expand a Community to Support You -- "Give what you have. Ask for what you need." The epilogue is especially good at bringing these ideas together. I especially liked the argument that both the past and the future exist now in the present. By re-examining the past in the present, you can give the past new meaning that can power the future fulfillment of your wish. Each of the nine steps contains assignments to help you apply the book's thinking more accurately. I found these assignments to be very brief, but highly effective. As I read the book, I applied its process to one of my favorite wishes. What I realized from this experience is that I have some issues in step 8 that I need to deal with. That was a very helpful insight to me. Prior to reading this book, I would not have realized all of the inner conflicts that I need to resolve before I can make the fullest progress. For me, that was a highly beneficial realization. I have no way of knowing what you will learn, but I suspect that you will gain value from seeing new issues that you can deal with in at least one area. If the book's main strength is that it explains the psychological states of implementing intention very well, the book's main weakness is that it does not explain all of its concepts. You are left hanging with some of the same statements that bother people who read Napoleon Hill. For example, you are a "sender and receiver." I take that to mean that we share our intentions with people, and we receive questions, suggestions, and support that we must be ready to notice and employ. In the context of the way the concept is used, you feel like some sort of metaphysics is being described without any detail or support. Anyone who wants to create more coherence in their life will find this book to be very valuable, if they do the assignments in a conscientious way. After you begin to experience mastery in applying The Circle, think about how you could introduce this information to others in ways that will make them more effective in achieving their deepest wishes. After they are having success, ask them how you can build your mastery to a higher level. Pick worthy goals, and commit to them with integrity!

This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
Don't let the size of this book fool you. It's all you need to begin affecting change in your life. So much power within the red and white cover... Setting intentions(making wishes)is nothing to take lightly and this book emphasizes this point by showing you how to set yours effectively. It also gives you key details about what to expect once you do "make your wish" and why things may happen as they happen. Laura Day breaks the whole process down into 3 sections with 3 elements within each section. This makes it easy for the reader to grasp each level. I read it straight through and then went back to each element to re-read it and complete the action at the end.I have read many books on intuition, creativity, and searching for your life's purpose. I plan to donate them all to my local library because "The Circle" is all I need to find and begin my true life path. Peace to All! Veo

A deceptively simple but powerful book -- don't miss it!,

This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
I wish I could buy a copy of Laura Day's book THE CIRCLE for everyone I know. What greater gift is there to give someone other than the power to make their dreams come true? THE CIRCLE: How the Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life shows readers how to harness energy both within you and all around you that you never knew existed, and how one carefully crafted wish can serve as a match to ignite potent and lasting transformation in our lives. Each of the book's three sections -- Initiation (intentionality, embodiment, ritual), Apprenticeship (synchronicity, making space, coherence), and Mastery (outer roadblocks, inner roadblocks, contact) -- features exercises that lead readers to discover the hidden potential in themselves, in others, and in the surrounding universe. I have used this information to bring me closer to my goals than ever before -- and I have Laura Day to thank for that! As Laura herself writes in the opening words of THE CIRCLE: "You are the intuitive, you are the healer, you are the creator. In THE CIRCLE, all of the gifts of human being are yours. You are enough, right now, to create anything you dream for yourself and others. Open this book and enter THE CIRCLE."

Life changing,

This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
The Circle is basically an outline of steps on how to change your life. It isn't mystical - these are practical steps to take in order to achieve success. The book is short and the message is simple. You make the commitment by making a wish first and then Laura Day takes you through each step in achieving this wish. She helps you to identify common mistakes made and why you haven't reached your goal until now. She also tells you what you should expect in keeping with The Circle. Sometimes what looks like a negative result is actually a positive one and she encourages you to perservere by showing you what will come of completing the steps. I highly recommend this book even over Laura Day's other books which are longer and can get overly involved. This book will help you with career, love, money or anything else that you've always desired in life but have never been able to grasp.

Pactical and effective,
This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
Of the hundreds of books I have read on intuition, manifestation and consciously creating our own lives, "The Circle" stands apart as the most practical and truly effective. Other books are often either too esoteric to be put into real-world practice or require too much of an investment of time outside of our busy lives for meditation or other excercises. This book is written with the knowledge that intuition is an aspect of human experience that belongs to all of us and mastering it brings success to anyone.
The Circle is a practice that gently merges into your life, until one day you realize that everything has changed. You have become aware of your life in all new ways, you have become conscious in your creations and the master of your own path. The Circle is meant to be lived and practiced, fulfilled and celebrated each and every day.

This review is from: The Circle: How the Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Paperback)
Finally a very positive book that shows you why the other manifesting books have not worked!! I've read many of these books and all leave me with what I consider to be "flawed" truth.
The Circle asks you to start with self-assessment. It starts where Louise Hay left off by saying that you must believe yourself worthy of the things you want, but it goes deeper as this passage reveals: "Once your are conscious of something--whether a behavior or a value or a hidden agenda-you are more able to make the choice to move beyond it." The Circle, while written in the eternal future/present of having the wish you want to manifest already true in your life, does not gloss over how conflicting emotions, your perception of the reality of your situation, and subconscious drives can work to make sure your dreams and affirmations fail. If you believe in the idea of manifesting, you also have to accept that you created what you have now and most importantly..... are maintaining it through your belief system and the external structures that have formed around it to support your assumptions! It is very easy to say you want X which is being kept from happening by supporting structure Y, which you have decided you can not live without!! Wishing for X doesn't magically change your refusal to part with Y! The Circle says that you can not affirm your ability to manifest something and at the same time expect that affirmation to instantly remove negative beliefs and external structures that are directly related to the manifestation. It points out that focusing on an affirmation will immediately bring into awareness the road blocks that have always stopped you from having what you want. Many people see this as the universe denying the manifestation, when it is the opposite. What comes is not a message from god that you are wrong in wanting something; it is a message that there needs to be action on your part. The above mentioned real world structures need to be dismantled and the conscious and unconscious conflicts that created them addressed. What, The Circle, does is take you on an inner journey to uncover the assumptions and deeply held beliefs that are the "real" cause of your difficulty. It uses simple, but meaningful examples to illustrate its points. Affirming that you want and deserve an attractive new partner will not work if you are so negative about your appearance and self-worth that you can't look an attractive person in the face and smile?? Manifesting takes inner work.

Finally,
This review is from: The Circle: How The Power Of A Single Wish Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
In 1973, I discovered the Seth books, channeled through Jane Roberts, and from then on read them as soon as they were published. Seth laid out the philosophical and spiritual cornerstones of "you create your own reality," but Roberts died before Seth ever explained the nuts and bolts of HOW. Laura Day explains how in just 142 pages. This book is a gem. Get out your pen and draw your circle and make your wish. Then watch your life change.
