Biography

“We’ve been called the biggest band nobody’s ever heard of,” says Brad Corrigan, one of Dispatch’s three singers and multi-instrumentalists. "People either know everything about us or they know nothing. There never seems to be any middle ground."

How Corrigan, Chad Stokes, and Pete Francis met in college, formed a band, and — with no radio ... Read more in Amazon's Dispatch Store

Editorial Reviews

2012 release from the American Indie/Roots trio, their first full length album in 12 years. The title track and album is an ode to the band's departed friend Larry Perry, who, according to press, was a disabled man unwillingly sent into space by NASA in the '60s. As a homage to their spacefaring companion, the band has forged a rollicking country anthem akin to some old Merle Haggard story-song, celebrating the man and his inspirational journey to the stars. ''Larry cannot walk or speak but was in perfect health and, more importantly, in the eyes of the government, expendable,'' said bassist-vocalist Chad Urmston. ''Unbeknownst to them, from a very young age, Larry had always been an adrenaline junkie and the scientists and government officials were actually fulfilling the biggest adventure he could ever dream: to be launched into space. To everyone's surprise, Larry returns from space triumphant and smiling.''

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! September 7, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
A slight departure from their old stuff, but you can see the contributions from each of the sounds these guys have built over the years with their solo works. In particular, "Circles Around the Sun" and "Not Messin'" will have you groovin' for days, and "Josephine" will have you undoubtedly singing along after the first listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love September 7, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great harmony, addictive rhythms, skilled guitar, good lyrics, and a sense of fun. Totally worth the wait. If you're a Dispatch fan, this album delivers. If you're new to Dispatch, this is a great place to start.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fair album from musicians who can be great September 21, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'll be frank, I have bought this album because I am a big fan of Dispatch going back many years, and I believe very strongly in supporting artists that you like. Having said that, I approached this album with much higher expectations than I felt it delivered. Yes the album has some catchy licks (CATS)and other nice songs, but overall I felt the album failed to live up the collective talent of the group. Their individual efforts over the past years have been very very good, with great musical exploration and sounds. This album by comparison seems constrained and well safe- I'd much rather see artists strive to evolve and fail; than not to try at all. Basically for me it was this; if you like Dispatch, you will like (not love) this album (buy Simmerkane II instead)

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Their Old Stuff
I like their old stuff better, but it is a pretty good album. A little more like some of State Radio's songs.

3.0 out of 5 stars not their best
It seems like they tried to stay as far from the sounds of their personal bands that they created a sound thats not quite Dispatch but I do feel the album could grow on me

4.0 out of 5 stars Good not Great
I gave 4 stars because "Come To Me" sounds like a duck in a paper bag getting shot by a bb gun. Overall the album is a shadow of what Dispatch used to be but it's still pretty... Read more
