I have loved Pete Seeger's CIRCLES & SEASONS ever since it first came out as an LP in 1979. It's a wonderful collection of folk songs, some of which are up there with Seeger's best. I'm not sure why it took so long for this to be released as a CD, but I'm very glad it's now available. Here's the track list for the CD: 1. Garbage 2. Sailing Down The Golden River 3. Mexican Blues 4. The Photographers 5. I'm Gonna Be An Engineer 6. Seneca Canoe Song 7. Maple Syrup Time 8. Vive La Quince Brigada 9. As The Sun Rose 10. Sour Cream 11. Tarantella 12. Garden Song 13. Harry Simms 14. Alleluia - Joy Upon The Earth My favorites are "Sailing Down the Golden River," "Maple Syrup Time," and "Garden Song," but I have a great fondness for the cleverly worded "The Photographer" and the timely "I'm Gonna Be an Engineer." "Garbage" and "Sour Cream" are fun, too. Actually, I love them all! CIRCLES & SEASONS is a real treat for fans of Pete Seeger or lovers of folk music. I recommend this without reservation. |
