I LOVE THIS ALBUM,

This is really a gem in Caetano's entire collection. It is similar in feel to Estrangeiro, obviously due to Arto Lindsay's role on both albums. I think this one is stronger altogether, with a beautiful blend of Caetano's various abilities. What makes this album so great is how daring it is. This may have been the one album where Caetano relied the least on familiar samba and bossa nova influences to carry the album through. Spend a lot of time with Circulado, because it may seem a bit scattered at first, but you will later realize what Caetano was trying to accomplish here. Undoubtedly one of his very best.

Caetano Veloso continues to be an extraordinarily powerful poetic force in the world of popular music. This CD, touched by the spark of his inventive producer, Arto Lindsay, reminds us that Veloso's innovations enhance the musical magic, making it a world unlike any other. You can hear many aspects of Veloso's gift on this CD.

'Circulado' is Caetano Veloso's second album with Arto Lindsey...and you can hear it. Lindsey's influence reminds me of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno's influence on late-70's David Bowie. 'Circulado' starts with some modern, experimental sounds but moves to more songs which sound more traditional, like 1960's bossa nova. That mix foreshadows 'Livro', and mixture of styles and influence seems to reflect Veloso's preoccupation with other kinds of mixture.

THIS ALBUM IS THE BEST DEFINITION OF GREAT POP MUSIC THAT I'VE HEARD. IT INCLUDES: A)AN EXCERPT FROM GALAXIAS(BRAZILIAN LITERATURE COUSIN TO JOYCE'S FINNEGANS WAKE), WHICH DEALS WITH THE ROUNDER OF FLOWERS('CIRCULADO') B)A POLITICAL SONG ABOUT THE NEW WORLD ORDER BEING OUT OF ORDER ('O CU DO MUNDO', ROUGHLY THE ASS OF THE WORLD) C)A COMPLEX RETELLING OF THE CLASSIC HORROR STORY A TERCERA MARGEN DO RIO, THAT'S EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. D)A SONG TO WELCOME BABIES INTO THE WORLD ('BOAS VINDAS'), AND SO MANY MORE GREAT TRACKS... SO, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS RECORD IT WILL CHANGE YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT POP MUSIC
