Circulon 2 12-Inch Open French Skillet

I, too, raved about this pan when I first got it, about 14 months ago, and would have given it 5 stars out of the box. But after a year or so of daily use (and daily care! no metal tools, no high heat, you know the non-stick dance...), the surface has begun to wear. It's held up better than the el cheapo teflons from IKEA and other places, but for the price, I thought I'd get at least two years out of it! <sigh> Please, God, it's the 21st century! Help us ease the burden on the landfills. Send us long-lasting nonstick cookware!

I used this pan the day it arrived and have kept on using it several times a week. It is a solid pan, has some weight to it, sits flat on the burner and is a breeze to clean up. So far, I've used it for those home-cooked frozen pasta dishes that serve two, with a lid leftover from a previous wok that didn't survive, beef stroganoff, stir-fry, and all the prep for baked ziti that served four. I'm back to look at other sizes as I see this type of pan replacing those inferior non-stick pans I have purchased through the years that never, ever last.

I hope Circulon comes out with a 12 inch crepe pan as that is really what I'm looking to replace next.

I like the skillet a lot, nothing sticks. I like to be able to flip whatever is being cooked by sliding it up the side then over without a spatula. Works really well. The only negative thing is that the skillet does not come with a lid, and the 12" lid from another set does not fit (too small).

I can only give it 4 stars. It usually performs quite well. I had a lot of problems with scrambled eggs, so put down a little butter if you are making eggs. I don't really mind that, honestly. Makes me feel a bit more like a proper chef anyway. Otherwise it's great. The surface has held up really well compared to some other pans I've used. Still looks like I just bought it several months of heavy use later.

Great product. I have been using Circulon for years and needed a bigger skillet. All the products are extremely durable, easy to clean and cook with even heat distribution.
