4.0 out of 5 stars I am no gormet cook.......
I've spent a fortune in my lifetime buying "non-stick" fry pans, only to throw them out after a year or two. The finish comes off, they scratch, & they become difficult to clean. I finally decided to get smart & buy something that will last. After doing a little research on Circulon, here's what I learned...They have 3 "grades" that you can distinguish by their handles...

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay...but certainly not Circulon Classic
My Circulon 8" Classic pan had seen its better days and I was in the market for a new pan. I was happy to see this set being offered for such a low price. One reviewer indicated that the pans were lighter than the original Classic pans. I went ahead and ordered them figuring it wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately they are lighter and the non-stick properties don't last...

I've spent a fortune in my lifetime buying "non-stick" fry pans, only to throw them out after a year or two. The finish comes off, they scratch, & they become difficult to clean. I finally decided to get smart & buy something that will last. After doing a little research on Circulon, here's what I learned...They have 3 "grades" that you can distinguish by their handles. The best is "infinite", it has an all steel handle. Next is "elite", it has a steel & silicone handle. Finally, there's Circulon 2/Total (that's what these are). They have a "plastic" handle. Each pan is oven-proof.(Infinite 500, Elite 400, 2/Total 350 degrees) Outside of the feel of the handles, one down side is that the Infinite is the only one that is "diswasher safe". With the other two, handwashing is recommended. I used to put everything in the dishwasher, and to be honest, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about handwashing them. What a piece of cake! Inside & out cleans beautifully & quickly. The triple pack was a great bargain compared to buying them separately, but I also purchased an "elite" and an "infinite" fry pan in addition to these, so I can tell you that in comparison they all cook food the same. I am extremely happy with the quality of these pans.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Throw Out Your Other Pans, August 10, 2008

as these are the best. I've used other skillets but these pans are the best I have ever used. Believe me you won't need butter or oil to cook things unless you want flavor - you won't even need to use cooking spray when you make eggs! The pan cooks even - keep in mind though this pan does cook higher than other pans so you won't need a high flame. They wash up well and the quality is excellent. I have other Circulon products and am very happy with them.

One reviewer indicated that the pans were lighter than the original Classic pans. I went ahead and ordered them figuring it wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately they are lighter and the non-stick properties don't last long. I've used the pans for about a week now and I have to use quite a lot of non-stick spray with everything, even eggs, and they still stick. I'm not very pleased with the set, and I'm considering returning them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the miracle pan they claim, September 22, 2009

I cook a LOT (I'm a food blogger) and I go through pans like crazy. Circulon claims their nonstick pans last longer than any other brand. This is sooo not true, in fact, I think they lasted even less time than other brands. They are maybe more scratch resistant because of the grooves, but the actual nonstick coating doesn't hold up. And the smaller sized pans are frustrating, because the handles are so heavy, if the pan is empty (when being warmed) or has something really light in it - for example if you're sauteing mushrooms, the pan tips where the handle is! and when this happens, hopefully you don't spill oil onto the burner because then you'd have an instant fire.

I will not buy these again. I bought about 8 different styles/qualities from Circulon - they all get a C-

4.0 out of 5 stars The saucepans do wear out..., June 13, 2009
This review is from: Circulon Accessories 3-Piece Open Skillet Set (Kitchen)
I've used Circulon for years, starting with a single 8" saucepan and finally buying a set I found at a super low sale price a few years ago at JC Penney. It performs extremely well, but there are two things you should keep in mind. 1. I does wear out in a year or two with daily use, even if you are careful. 2. If you let it get too hot, it will ruin the coating. If that happens, the non-stick characteristics are gone and you just throw it away. It's happened to me twice where I've been pan-frying something and the food gets really baked on because of excessive heat and must be laboriously removed. Luckily, it was just the 8" which is relatively easy to replace.

These are three great sizes to have, but I have put them next to pans I have purchased separately (as one-offs) and noticed the quality is slightly less. Not enought to cause me to lose sleep, but it's something to consider. I have one other 8 inch pan, for example, which I purchased on its own. And it is thicker than the one in the set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product!, December 16, 2008

I am not a great cook, and even I can make a decent meal with these skillets! I have yet to burn or stick anything, and they heat very evenly. I'm looking for a set of saucepans that do as good of a job!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's the finish we were looking for., May 28, 2009
This review is from: Circulon Accessories 3-Piece Open Skillet Set (Kitchen)
We haven't had much luck with any brand of cookware with non-stick coatings. They all start peeling in one to three years, becoming more useless as they peel. Circulon's hard-anodized finish is the answer. Anodize strengthens the permanent oxidation on the surface of aluminum. It is not a coating, so it can't peel. It is not as slick as teflon-type coatings, but it's non-stick enough for us. Unlike coated cookware, you can brown food in a Circulon pan. We've been using a 12-inch skillet heavily for three years, and it's like new.

Appear to be excellent quality. Have used several times since receiving them and they are great, just like other reviews claimed. I've used the largest one for browning meat and found that it did great and was also easy to clean. A bargain price compaired to other brands of similar quality.

We had one of these frying pans in the past, wanted to get more of them, nothing sticks to them, especially when they are new. We plan on getting more of them as needed. Received the order quickly. We love ordering items online, no drive to the store, and all the hassles involved, they just show up on my doorstep!
