Product Description

Amazon.com Review

With its 12-inch diameter, this skillet holds a mighty big omelet and is perfect for family-size meals. It also lets you stir-fry and sauté without fat or troublesome cleanups, thanks to its nonstick anodized-aluminum construction. While plain aluminum pans might easily warp and often react unpleasantly with food, anodizing--or thickening the oxide film of aluminum--creates an extremely tough, scratch-resistant surface. As a result, any chef or home cook can work with aluminum's great heat conductivity without worrying about discolored tomatoes. DuPont's triple-layer "autograph" nonstick system ensures that oil isn't needed for sautéing or a scouring pad for cleaning. And the concentric circles on the cooking surface aren't just to remind you that you're using a Circulon pan. This unique "high-low" design protects the nonstick surface by exposing only the raised portions to wear. The stainless-steel handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees, adding to the versatility of this pan. When you've finished cooking, remember that a damp sponge works best for cleaning anodized aluminum. In addition, to protect your pan, it's best not to use sharp metal objects. --Laura Cuthbert

2.0 out of 5 stars 12" French Skillet Disappointment, June 23, 2000

My wife and I bought several open stock Circulon pans as we read reviews that were favorable. At first we really liked this pan, however after a few month's use, we began to notice that it was becoming very difficult to clean. The high-low cooking area was no longer very non-stick and the "lows" or grooves were very difficult to get clean. We tried brushes and scouring pads but the longer we used this pan, the more difficult it was to clean. We spent nearly $100.00 on this pan, but we rarely use it any longer because it has become so difficult to clean. For light use I suppose it would be a good pan, but don't use it every day.

2.0 out of 5 stars Circulon skillets, April 9, 2002

We bought a whole range. Both skillets now are full of stuck on food, despite lavish attention to cleaning and the purchase of the official Circulon bristley cleaner. A total rip off by the way, save some bucks and get a nail brush if you do buy the pans.
One skillet was replaced under the lifetime warranty plan, but only after a bit of whining by the sales rep., who said we were not cleaning it properly. saucepans are fine as they only encounter food being boiled really. Add some oil and fry stuff, and forget it. My advice: money spent better elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, January 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Circulon Classic 12-Inch Nonstick French Skillet (Kitchen)
I like the weight and looks of the pans but much to my disappointment after a couple of years use the ridges accumulated food that I could not get out without ruining the surface. Now the food sticks terribly and I really can't use the fry pans.
