5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Skillet
This deep skillet is wonderful for frying, because of its high sides there is no mess on the range top. The well made handle/grip is easy to use & doesn't get hot. A glass cover that fits as tightly as this one is great to find. I also like the very flat bottom of this pan, it makes me crazy when you get a skillet that is raised in the center. 3.0 out of 5 stars Tips over towards handle
This pan, when empty, tips over towards the handle. The handle is heavier than the skillet. It makes preheating the pan (to melt butter for example) very annoying. I would definitely not recommend it, for this reason.

This is a good skillet, as long as you only cook with the lid on. If you take the lid off, the pan may fall towards the handle, because the handle is so heavy. I've lost food and burned myself twice this way (plus ruined a pair of jeans).

I still use it, because it's a good pan, but if I had to buy another one I would choose a model with a lighter handle.

Received the 12" skillet but found that it rocked on my ceramic cooktop. Called the customer service and they replaced the product quickly and the replacement is flat as expected. Good to have a no hassle, stand by your product attitude and service.

This deep 12 inch skillet has the best non-stick properties of any of the high end cookware that I have ever had. Clean up is as much of a breeze as cooking even with eggs. Seems to heat quickly/evenly and is great for larger meals. I can say it is my favorite skillet ever.

We bought the whole set of Circulon Elite last December, and over the past few months, I have been having problems with cleaning it - I only use the pan maybe once a month. I thought it was stuck food on the bottom, so today I finally took it out with a magnifying glass and sure enough the whole bottom of the pan's coating is bubbling up. What I scraped off with my fingernail wasn't reside from a poor dish wash, it was actually the non-stick coating! Now in looking all around the edge of the pan too where the lid fits, that is all crumbly too. So I called Circulon and they instruct you to mail the item to them with a tracking number for evaluation. Well, that seems like I will not see a replacement for a few months. If this was an every day use item, or if we used it in the oven or even put it in the dishwasher, I suppose I 'd understand the wear and tear, but this pan we hardly ever use!!! The other ones thank goodness are ok but wow - buyer beware!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pan --Little Heavy, March 19, 2006

Love the pan overall. Construction, weight, quality, heat distribution all very good. Lid fits well and is see through which is helpful. Handle stays cool. Can't toss it in the dishwasher which is somewhat inconvenient for me, but is does clean up easily. Wish they had added a "grab/carry" handle on the other side of the pan. When this very large, very heavy pan is full it is difficult to carry. Great pan to prepare "one pot" family dinners, cook meatballs, stiry fry rice, cook lots of bacon/sausage, etc.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with Circulon 12" skillet, January 25, 2010

I bought my skillet at Macy's (not Amazon) but feel compelled to write in my experience. I bought this to replace a 12" Analon skillet (that's another story). Our skillet gets occasional use mostly to make pancakes. We have owned this pan less than an year and noticed recently pancakes and other foods started sticking. When new, the pan only needed a small amount of oil and skillet worked perfectly. Tonight I fried a piece of salmon, skin-side-down which is normally no problem because in addition to the oil I added to the pan, the salmon skin has oil too. The salmon stuck to the pan just like the pancakes. Time for a new skillet. After searching the internet I found that others have had the same problem. While it does have a lifetime warranty, I am debating whether or not to send it to the manufacturer since at best they will send me another fo the same pan and I would rather not buy this pan again. I had a similar experience with the Analon skillet although the Analon lasted several years before losing it's non-stick properties. Having has this problem with this pan within less than a year I would not recommend buying this skillet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Working well so far., June 8, 2009

I have only had this pan a few weeks, but it is working well so far. I have used it 10 or 12 times.

I read about the handle being too heavy and making the pan tip if the lid wasn't on it. I am not seeing that problem with mine.

The pan is not as thick as others I have had and it only needs to have medium heat or lower.

if you've gone thru many cookware - esp frying pans due to sticking foods, burned bottoms, scratched surfaces and think that spending $10-$25 every few months is ok - then there is no need for you to consider circulon - however, if you are done with the frustrations of cooking with inferior and cheap cookware, then you MUST try a circulon - buy the cheapest one listed and you will find yourself wondering why you never got one years ago! i've tossed all my other pans in the garbage and use my circulon for everything! im now looking to buy another for ease of use while cooking multiple dishes. you will NOT be sorry. fall in love with cooking all over again.
