Total even heat and the best non-stick!!,

I love anodized aluminum's even heating. What I love the most about this Circulon Elite is; how the manufacturer carried over the non-stick from the inside to the exterior of the pan. I've had this pan for over a year and it looks brand new. I was really impressed when I read the Consumer's Report Dec, 2005 edition on the tuffest non stick. Circulon was in the top 3! I can see why! The handle is silicone, always cool.
I'm completely satisfied!!

I decided it was time to have some decent cookware. I had a Circulon wok, and I loved the high/low nonstick, so I decided to go with Circulon. So far I'm very satisfied. I purchased the set, as well as this frying pan. I've been the pan for two weeks now, and it is easy to clean, very non-stick, and works great. Easily the best non-stick cookware I've owned.

This is the pan I reach for every time I cook now. It's not too heavy, it heats and cooks everything evenly and is a breeze to clean. I want a whole set!

I bought this Pan back in Sept of 2009. I normally try not to write a review until I have really used a product. I bought this as my everyday non-stick pan. It worked fine for about the first 3 months, I liked the weight of pan as it felt sturdy and cooked evenly, but I didn't put it through heavy use (i.e. - more than once a day). After 3 months, the rubber part of the handle started to slip, which made working with it frustrating. After about 6 months, the non-stick started to become less non-stick. It didn't happen over night, but gradually, after about 1 year now, it has a stain on it that I can't get out, and the non-stick just kinda blows, even when I use spray or oil. Tomorrow, I take it to the recycle center, and look for something other than circulon to replace it.
While not perfect, I love to cook, and take very good care of my pots and pans. Maybe I got a lemon, but I thought the price was a little more expensive then some others on Amazon, so I expected the pan to last more than 1 year. It didn't.

I got this for my wife as we needed a good 10 inch skillet. This Circulon skillet is really great and better than advertised. Arrived in great shape and very quickly.

Good quality frying pan. Very sturdy and heats evenly. This
pan has a good grip to its handle and cleans quite easily.

I love Circulon, but the handle is way too heavy on this one.,

Circulon is probably my favorite cookware overall. The surface seems an ideal combination of non-stick performance and anodized sturdiness, plus being made out of aluminum provides for even heating.
But there's one essential design flaw in this particular pan that makes me recommend it only guardedly. The handle is so heavy that, unless the pan is loaded with a substantial amount of food, or a lid, it teeters on the verge of imbalance. This can lead to not making full contact with the burner on an electric stove. The balance point seems to almost at the very edge of the pan base, so if forced to use a smaller burner I have to place it off center. Now I may not have a $5000 suburban range, but a good pan should work under non-ideal circumstances. I don't have this problem with any of my other skillets, including the smaller version of the same model. ETA: Actually, my 8-inch skillet is NOT the "Elite" model. I can't find the same one here, but the handle is different, which probably makes for the better balance: it doesn't have that wide, bifurcated attachment that the Elites do, and there's a silicone grip only on the bottom of the handle, not all around. A relatively minor nuisance is that if you ever like to run the pan under the broiler, the silicone grip might preclude this. Incidentally, this does seem to be the pan I'm reviewing -- it says "elite" on the bottom, and looks exactly like the picture. |
