This review is from: Circulon Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I have a set of the traditional Circulon as well as a piece of the new steel Circulon. I have never had a problem keeping the 'grooves' clean. I put my Circulon in the dishwasher, it's very low maintenance. Food cooks great with it. Both my mother and mother-in-law have made positive comments about it when visiting. I have never had the problems which the negative reviewer has made. I recommend this brand HIGHLY!

Suits my needs far better than any more expensive set, December 22, 2004
This review is from: Circulon Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
First, let me say, I've been using this set for 6 months now, and I have never, NEVER gotten ANY food of any type, stuck in the 'rugged, concentric grooves.' I cannot even conceptualize how anyone could have this happen (they aren't like a grill pan, they're incredibly shallow), particularly since the nonstick makes EVERYTHING slide ride off.
There are several reasons I'm extremely happy with this set:
* Good selection of pot and pan sizes that suited my needs
* Fabulous nonstick, nothing (not even burnt scrambled eggs) sticks. It also seems to me to be a very thick coating of the nonstick, which should help prevent and scratching/wearing issues (of which, I have had none yet)
* Very ergonomic. I'll give you, these aren't the best looking pans on the market, but they are extremely comfortable to lift/move. I previously had an anodized set that was gorgeous, and heavier than all-get-out with awkward handles - I'll take function over fashion on this one.
* Rolled edges on pots and pans; this makes 'pouring' anything from them very easy. Also, the way the lids are made accomodates this roll, so they still seal quite nicely.
* Great price. I got mine on clearance, elsewhere, and used a discount coupon. These were a steal, at less than half of what I was planning on spending.
* But, most important to me - they are DISHWASHER-SAFE!!! Now, I still handwash mine when I have the time (the slippery nonstick surface actually makes this pretty easy), but it's nice to have the option of tossing them in the dishwasher. I've done this many times now (with a low ph detergent, we use Cascade Complete), and my pieces are absolutely no worse for the wear.
Now, there are a couple of drawbacks vs. more expensive sets:
* Sidewalls of the pots could be thicker. Perhaps this is a bigger issue on my gas cooktop than it would have been on my 'old' induction cooktop, but it hasn't bothered me too much.
* Again, they aren't works of art. I won't be leaving them out on display, but given how well they function, I don't care!
Overall: functions beautifully and cleans up marvelously at a fantastic price.
