About the Author
Sugarman's lifelong interest in circus was sparked when Alla Youdina, then Creative Director-New Circus Acts for Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey, invited him to watch her prepare The Spider Web Act for the show's Blue Unit near his home in Vermont in 1995.
Sugarman has taught at Bennington, Cazenovia and Southern Vermont Colleges and at the State University of New York at Albany.
