I loved the Twilight saga, but I think I may like this series even better. The Cirque du Freak series has an overall positive message about adapting to change and thriving, finding strength when all hope seems lost, friendship, and loyalty. Books 5-8 follow Darren through his trials of initiation and his flight from vampire mountain, and his battle with the vampires and the vampaneze. These books are a very quick, exciting read. I would recommend this series for children over 12 and adults. It is an exciting series that will keep both kids and adults entertained.

Love love love this vampire-based book series. I am a 58 year old female, however, I have always enjoyed "boy" type, action based fiction books as a reader. What I found about the entire Cirque Du Freak series, however, was that it was not JUST about being a vampire, or a member of a Freak Show. It teaches about loyalty and friendship; what a real 'family' is, even without the blood-relation.

In fact, I was so smitten with this series (Mr Shan, are listening?), that I made a gift of all my books to a then 11-year-old friend, because I was confident there was little to no swearing of any consequence, no real sexual content, but a good wholesome and fun teaching story definitely well-worth my time and my young friend's.

Hours and hours of good reading fun and miles of smiles afterward. I cannot wait to read more from Darren Shan.

Love the books but the quality of the small paperbacks detracted from the reading. Paper, printing and binding were of inferior quality. I will continue the series but buy the books separately as I did with the first 4.

Got exactly what I ordered, in the shape it said it was in. I even got it in the time frame promised. I can't really ask for anything more than that. Great job!

Ive read all the books, and this is great for anyone that likes the series its compacts and in a nice box so you can store it anywhere, if you like the cirque du freak books by darren shan but never bought then, this is one of the boxs set you want. i was very happy with it. def 5*'s

These were amazing books! Other than Twilight, these are the best books I have ever read. I loved them. They have given me so many ideas for my book that I am writing. They are fast paced, action filled, and surprising. At the end of every book, there is always a very surprising twist! Darren Shan will always hit you with something new and exciting. Everything you read is unexpected. My favorite out of books 5-8 is probably book 5 and book 8. They both have very unexpected twists at the end. You will never see them coming! On my list, it is in the running for best book series! If a lot of people start reading it, it could be more popular that Twilight!

This boxed book set arrived very quickly(before Christmas, as promised) and was just as described. All in all, a great buying experience.

My 7th Grader LOVES these books. It a miracle to get him to read unless its homework and he is almost done the whole set.

19 and still love these books. Book 5 opens great and ends great. Book 6 moves on to more crazy ideas and some twist i never saw coming. And book 7 begins a a whole new adventure that will last till book 9-10.

Book 8 is one of my favorites and well throughout story. If you like 1-4 you'll love 5-8.
