The CardBus interface supports an IEEE 802.11a radio operating in the 5 GHz frequency band. At least one radio must be installed for the access point to operate in a WLAN and at most two radios (one of each form factor) can be installed. Cisco Aironet 1200 Series modular access points feature antenna connectors for greater range or coverage versatility using a broad selection of available Cisco antennas as well as a rugged metal housing for operation over extended temperature ranges typical of demanding environments. The 802.11g radio delivers industry-leading range and throughput meeting the performance requirements of industrial and enterprise applications while hardware-assisted AES encryption provides uncompromised support for interoperable IEEE 802.11i and WPA2 security. While the 802.11g-configured Cisco Aironet 1200 Series meets the needs of many industrial applications its modular design allows dual radio configuration and field upgradeability so administrators can deploy a wireless network optimized for their evolving requirements. This access point does require a little bit of "know how". In fact, there are technical classes you can take on this access point. The material is 800+ pages. I am a techy and I prefer this access point above all others. It transmits the bests signal, it provides the most secure options, and fall back repeater mode if you have multiple. The attenas available to purchase are numerous for so many different topologies and deployment strategies. This access point is a business line access point, not a consumer line access point. The previous comment was from an individual who obviously doesn't know much about wireless. It is the best access point on the market in my opinion. For business use, it is the only one I will use.
